  1. Good day,I have long been gone from the sim world due to my RL flying career development, but now I decided to go back.I have used most of the tips from this forum to setup my FS9 sim as well as my hardware. The sim runs relatively smooth except random drop of performance in 2D panel view.I have 35-40fps on average with smooth sim, then all of a sudden it drops to 6-7 fps. When I change the view to VC or Spot view then sim 'restets' its fps back to the good level.I would appreciate your expert review of my settings and pointing out where I might have gone wrong. Here's my hardware setup:HP 2. Hallo everybody,Been a while since I actively used Flight Simulator, but I still owe a lot to this great community which helped me progress with my real life flying career.I am flying the B200GT version of the Kingair now and have some videos I would like to share with you.here they are: Comments welcome! Thanks for watching!Dom aka N4865G
  3. Pardon me if this question sounds lame, but do I want to downgrade my Vista 64 to DX9 if I run DX10?Thanks for claryfing this one for me.Dom
  4. Yes, I fly for the fractional ownership operator and we do collect and service our aircraft at EDAZ (Schoenehagen). You need to talk to Jan Peter Fischer, who is a MD for Cirrus Germany.Best regardsDom
  5. Thanks Onur,It's a coincidence - same model, airport but different aircraft.ThanksDom
  6. Hallo all, some pics from my recent flight in a brand new SR22 Turbo.Hope you enjoy them.PFDhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194013.jpgTwin GNShttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194014.jpgIn preparation for arrival...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194015.jpgBerlin as seen from FL100http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194016.jpgBerlin's recently closed Tempelhofhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194017.jpgRegards,Dom
  7. Hallo everybody,I got to the point of serious remodelling of my house and looking for space I decided to change my stationary PC for a top-of-the-line laptop computer. What is the best option I have below 2500usd with 17' monitor which will allow for much improved performance to what I get at the moment (see my specs below).Thank you very much indeed for your help,Best regardsDom
  8. Hallo again,Thank you for the clear step-by-step explanation on how to get around this limitation.Does it mean, that in case of a shortcut from the ATC and bypassing one or more waypoints this modification in the RXP430 would have to get exported to the flight plan again?ThanksDom
  9. Thanks a lot for your help,Very clear.CheersDom
  10. in FSX I mean. Are they compatible?Would the PFD and MFD draw the information from the Reality XP 430 unit installed into this plane?By the way, since we are already on SR22, is there any special CH throttle quadrant necessary to allow the throttle level operate like the original one (combined throttle/prop).I found the throttle lever in my CH moves the power lever in the SR22, but it only changes the MP in the sim, not the prop rpm. Thanks in advance,Dom
  11. Thank you Tim!Exactly what I needed,CheersDom
  12. Is there a way to remove some of the view categories one moves accross pressing the 'A' button (view withing the category that is)?I would be willing to leave just the two of them and skip the rest. Now I need to press the 'A' button several times to get to the view I want to see.Having it limited to just the two I could assign the button on my CH yoke to that particular view. Or perhaps alternative approach by assigning a button to particular view category via FS menu or FSUIPC?Thanks for your help,Dom
  13. Great!Thanks for your help,CheersDom
  14. Gents,Apologize for 'stealing' this thread, but given autogendesriptions are no longer needed to be changed how one can get rid of the powerline masts slicing through the scenery?ThanksDom
  15. Bump, same here.Would somebody with archived file share it please.CheersDom
  16. It's not about the Spitfire, which I did not get... yet. It's a general conclusion of having tried numerous GA payware add-ons for FSX.Being a RW pilot for over 20 years and having used Flight Sim since FS4 edition, I perceive their products as a benchmark for other developers out there. For anybody looking to practice instrument procedures Realair aircraft could not get any better. Perfect gauge clarity and smoothness, excellent sim performance, aerodynamics modelling of various phases of flight, finally very convincing sound environment - it's all there.I am very much looking forward to Realair Duke to be released some time in the future. Please do not read my post as a negative feedback towards other developers. It's purely my way of expressing appreciation to Realair developers for what they have done.CheersDomDisclaimer: I'm in no way associated with Realair, in case somebody started to wonder...
  17. Hallo everybody,I have searched the forum, but have not found an answer quite to my point.See my specs below please. I have second monitor I tried to plug into my dual head graphics card.Running FS9 I have had no problem moving any undocked panel window to another monitor without performance degradation. With FSX however, any attempt of moving even slight bit of the undocked window results in very heavy slideshow-like stutter and my fps drops down to 1-2 fps.I tried to turn video acceleration for the second monitor off, then on, but it does not seem to change anything at all.Given my specs below do you reckon running the second monitor is asking too much of it?Thanks for your time,Dom
  18. Hallo Gents,There are a lot of RL pilots using the sim to train flying in a soup, so using the real weather and keeping it realistic provided by ASX is a way to go.What I think would help a lot would be an option in the main menu to find the station in a given area (say Europe) with the worst weather conditions (say visibility and ceiling parameters). Is it possible?ThanksDom
  19. Not sure if I'm right but it looks like the initial load of ASX loads the weather for all stations worldwide.Anyway, it takes a very long time to load - is there any way to shorten it, say by limiting the station coverage if I only fly in Europe for instance?cheersDom
  20. Hallo all,I can only confirm with what Kav is saying here.I get sudden and severe wind shifts flying small GA aircraft.Do not use FSUIPC.I'd be willing to offer more info if necessary.ThanksDom
  21. >Lets be clear. Neither Fs9 nor FsX can stretch one view over>two monitors. You have to put one "new" view on each monitor.>resize the view so that the edges do not fall off the edge of>the monitor.>One "new" view placed on each monitor with the sides not>dropping of the edge of the monitor is the correct way.Oh well, tried that and I'm afraid it did not work.Well, it did, as I moved a new window with a new view over to the other monitor, but by the time I did that my fps went from steady 20fps to 2fps with long pauses when trying to move the cursor.I recall from long time ago, FS9 early times, when there was a statement, that you cannot transfer a new 3D view over to the other monitor for heavy performance penalty. It was OK to move 2D panels, as it did not deteriorate the performance, just not the 3d outside view.Looks like this is the same case here.CheersDom
  22. Interesting.Kimchoc, don't you suffer any performance degradation running another 3D view on another monitor via the same video card?Gotta try that bit later then,Best regardsDom
  23. Thanks for all the replies.Second monitor is working - I have it displaying extended part of the first monitor. Dragging any of the sides of the FS window beyond the first display results in dramatic frame rate drop. Also, the part of the window on the second monitor is blacked out.Guess this is something only possible with Matrox 3-display unit.ThanksDom
