ASV and gliding

Featured Replies

Yesterday I tried out some thermal scenery, but couldn't seem to feel any lift. I could see it -- by setting ShowTriggers to 1 in my FS9.cfg -- but I couldn't feel its effects.Could this have something to do with AS? Not blaming the program -- just trying to find the best configuration for gliding.

Hi,They should both work. ASV won't interfere with such thermals...it uses a completely unrelated real-time vertical air component control (via FSUIPC), where FS9 uses the scenery-based triggers and associated thermal effects. If the scenery triggers aren't working, I'd look at the scenery installation.ASV auto-generated "thermals" can provide soaring conditions, but the winds need to be higher and you need to be in more mountainous terrain for higher frequency and strength. Alternatively, you can manually create stronger thermals with the ASV main interface and adjust all parameters if needed.Best,

Thanks, Damian, that's exactly what I needed to know.
