September 19, 200520 yr Yesterday I tried out some thermal scenery, but couldn't seem to feel any lift. I could see it -- by setting ShowTriggers to 1 in my FS9.cfg -- but I couldn't feel its effects.Could this have something to do with AS? Not blaming the program -- just trying to find the best configuration for gliding.
September 19, 200520 yr Hi,Does the scenery supply the updrafts or are you using AS to supply them? You may need to use one or the other, but not both at the same time.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 20, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,They should both work. ASV won't interfere with such thermals...it uses a completely unrelated real-time vertical air component control (via FSUIPC), where FS9 uses the scenery-based triggers and associated thermal effects. If the scenery triggers aren't working, I'd look at the scenery installation.ASV auto-generated "thermals" can provide soaring conditions, but the winds need to be higher and you need to be in more mountainous terrain for higher frequency and strength. Alternatively, you can manually create stronger thermals with the ASV main interface and adjust all parameters if needed.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
