512x512 Texture Set install Sequence needs clarification???

Recommended Posts

Guest GW Norris

Hello Chris, Jim, or DamienIn one of the post in the dedicated 512Texture thread someone asked for clarification of whether to install each set individually or unzip all three to the same folder and run the setup just once. However the readme's in the zips I just downloaded from the links on the Activesky site, download page, which takes you to the Avsim Library for the download, say to install each one seperately. The readme's and the setup file in all 3 zips have 6/14/2005 as the last date modified. However in the post in the 512 Texture thread ( I believe it's dated6/22/05. Chris answered the post saying that the setups were reworked and that all 3 zips shaould be unzipped to the same folder and then run the setup just once.If the install procedures have changed then why do the Zip readme files instruct the user to install each one seperately? very confusing. The post I mentioned above, the guy said that his instructions in the files he downloaded said to unzip to the same folder and run the setup just once. Mine do not say that and we both got the zips from Avsim. I just downloaded mine today 9/24/05 and he downloaded his in June. What is the correct dates on the setup file and what is the correct install sequence??Thanks in advance

Hi,The first release of the 512x512 was needed to be unziped to the same folder and run the setup just once, these are not available anymore. After few weeks, we released them without need to be unziped to the same folder. The one at avsim are the latest one;-Downloaded part 1, 2, 3, -Run the setup.exe from EACH of the 3 Parts -Installing each one individually.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Hi Gary,At one point the process was changed. The readme's are correct: install each seperately. Remember there was a heck of a lot going on at that time in our lives! I even know that the files were pulled for a short time. The 6/14/05 date is correct!Edit: Chris beat me!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
