October 1, 200520 yr Hi,This is a strange one. What build of ASV are you running? This may be a unique occurance, but we'll watch for it.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 1, 200520 yr Hi Jim, thanks for the reply. The build I'm using is 363...I also noticed something else to. In the Event Manager, looks like the warnings were promted about every 5-mins, 10-mins, and 30-mins as if ASV was trying to refresh itself..Well it continued until Flightsim crashed at 7:19am this morning......I've downloaded the new build, but it could take a while to reproduce this problem...Will let u know though..ThanksTroy
October 1, 200520 yr I was taking a flight from Tokyo Haneda to Denver Colorado in my new PMDG 747. I started it lastnight about 10:30pm MT and expected arrival about 9:30am MT. When I woke up at about 8:05am to check the process, I noticed flightsim had crashed with a 'SIM1.DLL' error. I checked the Event Viewer under Admintools and saw that there were 18 warning messages between 9/30/05 and 10/01/05 with this message:"The content index filter for file "c:program filesmicrosoft gamesflight simulator 9modulesasvcurrent_wx_snapshot.txt" generated content data more than 8 times the file's size." The link in the message sends me to Microsoft site. This is what MS had detailed:Details Product: Windows Operating System ID: 4101 Source: Ci Version: 5.0 Component: Application Event Log Symbolic Name: MSG_CI_SERVICE_TOO_MANY_BLOCKS Message: The content index filter for file "%1" generated content data more than %2 times the file's size. Explanation This event record indicates that the file listed did not get indexed because it generated too much data relative to the physical size of the file. The file will appear in the unfiltered list. This might be normal, or it might be caused by a problem in the filter being used. User Action Verify that the filter is configured correctly. If the problem is not caused by the filter, you can increase the amount of data Indexing Service allows per document. To do this, see the Microsoft Platform Software Development Kit for information about setting the MaxFilesizeMultiplier registry entry._______________________________________________________________Ok, if this really has nothing to to with ASV, then please ignore. If so please help me understand this message and if this can be fixed..Thank you...Oh BTW, I'm using FLIGHT EMVIRONMENT with this..TroyWinXP Pro SP2FS9 with updateASUS A7N8X v.2AMD 2800 barton@333mhx1GB ddr 2700@ 333mhzGeforce 6600GT 128 (AGP)/ 70.80 driverWD 200GB HDD@ 7200rpmWD 80GB HDD@ 7200rpmCreative sound 5.1Antec 500 Watt Power
October 1, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Troy,The warning messages about the indexing service are normal, as the snapshot end-user files are text-based and are being updated at each interval and due to the nature of this kind of file it should not be indexed. You can ignore the file in ms indexing or just ignore the warning. As to the crash, this appears completely unrelated from what I can tell, and can be caused by just about anything most likely not related to ASV. Please search the forum (here and the main FS one) for lots of past discussion. Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
