October 5, 200520 yr Hi All, I don't really know if this has been covered, but i can't find it. Today i have installed the new ASV and my FS simply stopped working. It's not like other users have reported that it doesn't even load, my FS loads, but none of my previous saved flights work. When i try to load any of the flights FS stucks at 77% when it starts to load the weather and then it gives an error message asking me to restart it. When i eventually get a flight to load completely (with clear weather conditions, for example), when ASV detects and loads the weather it crashes again. If ASV is not loaded, FS holds on a little while longer but eventually will crash with an error from MyFSMenu (which i haven't the faintest idea what it is).My guess is that it has to do with the some corrupted textures or something like that, i know ASV has made a backup of my Textures directory, but i wouldn't want to retrieve it before trying other things... i imagine that there was a meaning in replacing the textures, so i wouldn't want to lose that effect. Can anyone help please ?
October 5, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi, You are using DXT clouds. Your render to texture is disabled, enable render to texture in fs2004 display option, and the 77% CTD will be gone. October 5, 200520 yr Thanks Chris for the prompt answer... Just one other thing, what if i don't want to use the DXT textures ?? is it possible to remove them or just use other set ? I'm asking this because i've noticed before that the render to texture option really slows my FS, and i'd rather have it disabledThanks
October 5, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,Just disable DXT clouds, in the AE interface and you will able to use 32 bits clouds like before and disable render to texture in fs2004.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
October 5, 200520 yr This is where the strange mode is turned on.... :)I have solved the problem by turning on Render to Texture, but if i go to the AE interface i see that DXT textures are disabled. The only answer i can find is if i already had any textures previously installed that were DXT and now they started to cause problems... can this be ?
October 6, 200520 yr Hi,Submit a new set of textures to FS04.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
