two versions of Active Sky on separate Hard Drives?

Recommended Posts

Guest BAW843

Hi All,Do you know if it is possible to have two versions of AS on two separate Hard drives?I have FS installed on my C drive (which is a whopping 26gb) I have now purchsed and installed a second hard drive (F) with a clean copy of flight sim, this was only achieveable by following these changes:-renamed .exe. and .cfg files to FSold.exe and FS9old.cfg - this enables a second version of FS to be installed. This also produces a new .cfg for the clean copy of FS in your C:documents etc....Do you know if it is possible to have another version of ASV installed on the F: drive which will only work with the F: drive executable of FS?Kind RegardsPHIL

Yes, I am curious about this as well. I want to set up a retro FS world on another drive but I can't fly without ASVE.

Hi All,Sorry for the delay. I have had some serious real world issues to deal with this week! But things are better now!!First, the link points to a question of installing on 2 different computers and this is OK.The problem here is fooling one computer into installing 2 instances of ASV. Yes, you could probably edit the registry, but we do not recommend that. However, I did help a user out about a month ago who wanted to run one copy of ASV and connect to 2 different installs of FS04. To do this you set up two differnt ASV.ini files and the only line that needed to be edited was the FS9Path. Just point this line to the copy of FS04 that you wish to run.It worked out for him and it may help out here also!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
