Texture problem

Featured Replies

I have noticed that when using ICS+Random Sky/Environment, that upon update/refresh of weather, my textures at my location (different airports) go blurred to the point where it just looks like a mush. In addition, the texture of my aircraft either disappears completely, or 50% goes missing. I have now turned this option off, and select manual clouds, and have not had a repetition (so far). Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, is there a known solution???ThanksPaul

Hi Paul,Typical memory and system performance problem, aircraft texturing disappears, blurry groundclouds, is related to the systemmemory. when fs2004 is using many feature at the same time, if the setting are not well tweaked according to the capacity of the system, these will happend.Your system have difficult to handle many feature used at the same time, with some situation and area it make blurry and missingdisappearing texture. -Use Aicraft that's contains DXT texture only (not 32 bits)-Be sure your AGP Aperture in the BIOS is set to a min of 64MB (128mb) can be set little higher depend on you video cards)Improved frame boost:-Resolution 1024x768-Limiting the Clouds layer to 3 in ASVE-256x56 32 bits or 512x512DXT 256x256DXT or lower resolution.Improving Overall Performance:We recommend setting the cloud draw distance and sight distance to the lowest setting in FS2004 display options, and increase them slightly a little at a time during testing to find the best balance for performance and quality on your system.Video Card Setting Suggestions:Depend on your system and set, you can start with the basic settings and increase them slowly to check your performance:-AA and AF disable or at 2-Image quality setting to performance-Turn off Vsync FS2004 Display Setting Suggestions:-Antialasing disabled-Lock your Target Frame Rate Slider between 20 and 30.-Set Mips slider to default (4) -Try either Bilinear or Trilinear filtering for best performanceMicrosoft Knowledge Base posts for FS9:http://support.microsoft.com/search/defaul...=false&numDays= Sound Related Issues for FS2004:http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...394&Product=gms Improving game performance for FS2004: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...069&Product=gms ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
