October 28, 200520 yr Hi Damian and Jim,as a long user of AS, I'm impressed with the nice enhancements in the latest version, very good work !I'm just wondering if the new release is able to handle the VV (vertical visibility) indicator, maybe by creating an OVC layer at the VV value. And I noted that a "force CB with TS" option has not been put in the option screen...All the best.
October 28, 200520 yr Hi,By "new release" you mean ASVE then No.And No to the other. But that doesn't mean we have forgotten things! You would be amazed as to the number of requests that we get for features/options. Damian has to sit there and set up a priority list, program the things, then we test, test, test and rework things. All of this takes time, as you might imagine, and then there are not enough hours in a day to get everything done. So everyone's great ideas stay on a master list and we hope to get to as many as possible.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
October 29, 200520 yr Hi Jim,yes I intended ASVE that I downloaded and installed and checked out in the last weeks. It works nicely and has a lot of new thingies. So, I'll sit and wait for the next releases to see even more improvements !Thanks a lot.
October 29, 200520 yr The VV thing is really troublesome at my end. It means I can never use live weather when it is low IFR or I get big VFR holes in the weather. Don
October 29, 200520 yr Yes, the option to "translate" VV as OVC could be handy. Another options could be the one to change VV/// (it happens sometimes) to OVC000 or OVC001.
October 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,This is certainly possible (trigger Overcast layer based on VV value), and sounds like a great option for a future build. Earlier requests were based on simulating vertical visibility parameters without actually using an OVC layer, which of course has not yet been possible (despite our attempts). The VV->OVC feature and option will be put on the list. Thanks for the feedback! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 30, 200520 yr Thanks for keeping it in mind! I think a option along those lines would work perfectly.
October 31, 200520 yr I do agree !The ability to simulate VV with an OVC layer will enhance the realism during reduce visibility operations.Great work, Damian !
