November 12, 200520 yr First, I just bought Active Sky 5. Is this the same as "Enhanced"?Second, I set my "suppression" to 4000 ft and 100 nm.Right now I'm flying props around the mountains alot, so the airports are mostly above 4000 ft...What are the implications of this? (I'm still trying to understand what I'm doing lol) I don't notice much of a performance drop when textures are loading so I'm just wondering what the optimal settings are..(or should I just not fix it since it "aint" broken lol)?Any other tips/hints are appreciated.. I'm very new to any addon scenery like this.Love it so far!Jeff
November 12, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Jeff,Welcome to ActiveSky!ASV "Enhanced" is the name of the latest full release version build 367. If you just downloaded installed, you'll have it. If you're running on a previous build, you can "upgrade" via http://sales.hifisim.com/ASVE download page..Suppression altitude is based on AGL altitude, not MSL. Update suppression is not a big deal in these latest versions since performance hits are so low... I would leave the altitude alone or maybe even drop it a bit if you fly less than 4000ft cruise altitude on occassion. This feature prevents updates from triggering when below the configurable suppression altitude, to prevent any possible performance hit while on approach.Local suppression, which you have set at 100nm, is different.. this prevents updates to wx stations within the 100nm range, so that the wx depiction never instantly changes on you. While you are flying, the weather beyond 100nm is updating appropriately so you will fly "into" the updated/changing weather with nice visual transitions.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
