November 13, 200520 yr Hi,it doesn't seem to matter lately what day's weather I download I run into a Thunderstorm somewhere. Just last night I was killed by a storm.... Over EGYPT??? I counted around 15 to 20 seperate storms on the 1200 mile route from Italy's Aviano Airbase. I had been downloading weather from various times of the summer over the last couple of weeks or so, right from May through to September, and every time I flew I hit a storm somewhere. Italy always seems to be covered in storms. Surely something isn't rightedit, I've just retrieved the weather briefing for the same download for the weather in that area(Alexandria, Egypt) where I was crashed by the storm. As you can see, technically it didn't exist...HEBA 050300Z 32009KT CAVOK 22/19 Q1014HEAX 050400Z 050606 35014KT 9999 FEW020FL030: 343/24 (19.50) FL060: 357/20 (14.10) FL090: 002/15 (15.10)Hope you can help,Regards,
November 13, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,Are you using the FSUIPC option to generate storms? Might be worth a check. There could also be other stations in the surrounding area reporting TS or CB that could trigger interpolation of such within FS9. If you can duplicate and send me your asv.ini, fsuipc.ini, .pln and current_wx_snapshot.txt (all from the flight that experienced such storms) I would be happy to investigate! November 18, 200520 yr Just wanted to say a very public thank you to Damian, for all his help getting this one solved. I changed a setting in ASV and in the last couple of flights not one Thunderstorm. So it looks like the issue got sorted. Many thanks again Damian for all the effort you went to with me to sort this one. Eternally grateful.
November 19, 200520 yr Hi John,Glad things worked out! Just for my info. what setting was incorrect?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
November 20, 200520 yr Not so much incorrect Jim, just for some reason the TAF processing was causing far to many storms on my setup. Once I cleared that it went away, I think because I was using historic weather partly so will have to try it back on with realtime weather and see what happens.
