December 30, 200520 yr Moderator I'm in the process of setting up WideFS. Would there be any advantage in running ASV6 under WideFS? My current system is a P4 3.4G 2G ram and NVidia 6800 card running XP SP2. I usually have my frames set to 30 and except for heavy clouds in dense areas generally have no major slowdowns. Plan on trying FSNav and RadarContact ( when it arrives ) under WideFs and just wondered if I'd get any benefit.Same question applies to Active Radar - any benefit there?Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 30, 200520 yr Author Moderator OK - reread the FAq's and I don't really see any benefit to running ASV6 via WideFS. I've been running WideFS since it became available, and I shudder at the thought of NOT having it. You're second PC becomes the client and helps carry the system load which includes ASkyV6. Meanwhile, your main/server PC takes on all of the FS9 chores and your FS9 PC needs all the help it can get.Radar MUST be located on the FS9PC/Server and cannot be run anywhere else. I don't bother with the radar simulation.
