I am assuming your drive is an HDD not an SSD - if that's the case and you are over 50% full - you are losing performance there also. It is probably not ONE specific thing that's causing your problems but a combination of factors.

That said - you can get "acceptable" performance from your hardware and p3d with careful use of the settings.

First - delete or rename your p3d.cfg file and let p3d rebuild. Accept the defaults it sets and make no changes. See how that goes.

Running unlimited may give you increased FPS but at the expense of smooth operation and graphis quality. The system will TRY to maintain the highest FPS it can which takes away from the scenery loading, etc. IMHO, you need to run at a locked fps  - probably around 20 - adjust settings until you can get smooth performance. Do NOT attempt to chase the FPS monster - P3D is about smooth performance, not high FPS. Get it smooth first - then try adjusting settings.

Yes - start by throwing away the EMT. Reinstall P3D and do NOT install anything else. Get P3D stable with no add ons of any kind. Then install add-ons - testing after each install. If the program has a native P3D installer - use it. If it is not compatible - don't try to install it. If you feel you have to use the EMT - it's your system - but it could cause more problems than it's worth.

  3. vgbaron's post in Went Client only 3.2, getting this.... was marked as the answer
Missed that you already tried that Steve.

Sounds to me like the install got munged somehow. You could try a repair install or you might uninstall and reinstall the client.

Getting any error messages in the event viewer?

  4. vgbaron's post in REX4 and Weather Engine? was marked as the answer
A lot of people, myself included use ASN with the REX textures - gives yo9u the best of both worlds, IMHO. ASN has a  free trial period. When you are ready, give it a try.

The official V3 installer is expected November 2015

It will not install properly using the migration tool

*IF* you know what you are doing you can manually install it in V3 - please do not ask for instructions in the Avsim forums.

Bite the bullet and wait for the official installer - you will be better off in the long run.

In P3D options display - uncheck black out desktop - see if that helps.

Trying to post that no updates to IE11 and cache cleared but have same issues. I just switched THIS post to Firefox - let's see if I succeed. I'll have to dig thru IE settings.

  9. vgbaron's post in Issue with new MyTraffic 5.4 install in P3D was marked as the answer
I just installed as per instructions and it worked just fine - no other adjustments necessary. If you have to mess with the Traffic editor, something is screwed up.

    Reinstall

also post question in Burkhard's forum.
