Hi,I downloaded and ran AS6 today and I have read the online documentation at hifisim.com and I have no problem using ActiveSky 6.But the problem is I'm trying to use ActiveSky Graphics and I still don't understand how to use it. I selected Cirrus Clouds in attempt to recreate the screenshots ActiveSky6 did like at: http://sales.hifisim.com/ASv6/Screenshots/cirrusclouds.htmI clicked 'Send to FS' then after it was done, it showed a message that it's ready and to load or reload FS9.Do you mean start up FS9 or create a new flight in FS9?Either way I attempted by starting up FS9 with the ActiveSky Graphics running in the background and after I selected the airport and the aircraft, then I looked around and it's kind of foggy and I don't see any cirrus clouds at all. I waited a few min and still the same thing. What am I doing wrong?Thought it was above the clouds, climbed and still nothing.Basically all I'm trying to do is get the same effect ActiveSky6 screenshots posted at the link above.Plus I would love to get this sunset in my FS9, could anyone tell me how to?136286.jpgThanks in advance,-Chris B.

Hi Chris,Welcome to ActiveSky!!Basically, the weather is going to greatly influence what you actuall see in terms of clouds including cirrus formations. We use some pretty sophisticated weather condition analyzation techniques to determine when and where to draw cirrus clouds. The METAR report is going to be the #1 influence on this, but also the existence of lower ceiling (broken or overcast) cloud layers. In this situation there will be less cirrus drawn. There are two options that will effect the cirrus cloud depictions:1) "Upper Layer Generation" When enabled (by default) will allow the weather engine to dynamically create cirrus layers with conditional influence regardless of the METAR report2) "Force Lowest Ceiling" When enabled (by default) will actually PREVENT cirrus layers from occuring in many situations when a lower ceiling layer exists. This is to allow the best possible coverage and depiction of ceiling conditions. If you turn this option off, you will get less coverage of the ceiling (per METAR) in some situations, but you will have much more cirrus layers (and other mid-high layers).Giving #2 a go will most likely result in the kind of experience you are looking for. You could also use the Wx Configurator to program your own high layers (above 20K, depending on temps, will generally produce cirrus formations).Hope that helps!

HI Chris,You can do it manually in ASG for faster result without using wx-influenced condition. The sunset are from the dramatical series, there is near 29. Hi, For cirrus, you must have cirrus in the metar, or you can set them manually in fs2004, I think on the screenshots there was 2 or 3 layers of cirrus overcast and broken with a darker blue sky color etc.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg

I tried some random airport today and KLGA came up with some wispy like cirrus clouds which is close to the AS6 cirrus screenshots but still no dice. This one is my favorite and I'm trying to come close to it as possible: http://sales.hifisim.com/cirrus1.jpg
