January 11, 200620 yr Hi guys,Have been using ASV6 since before Christmas. Installation went very well, though I chose to leave ASVE in place so not sure I can now remove it. My question is how do I get Cirrus clouds to appear in ASV6. I have selected different cirrus themes in ASG til they're coming out my ears submitting them to FS each time but I never see any cirrus clouds in the sim. Am I doing something wrong. The same probably goes for other themes as it is difficult to detect changes when selecting different themes and sending them to FS. I used to use ICS in ASVE's active environment and I assume that the wx-related themes replace these. Is this correct?Mervyn
January 12, 200620 yr Hi,Remember that there is no weather attached to the Graphics Themes, only environmental textures. To do the same thing ICS was doing set this up:In ASv6 Options under Graphics check on the Auto Submit box.For both Theme windows browse to wx Influenced and choose them.Click on the Save and Exit button.Process a plan or set your departing airport in ASv6.Just because you have choosen a cirrus texture that does not mean that cirrus clouds are automatically going to show up all the time. They are still going to be based on weather conditions.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

January 12, 200620 yr Hi, Damian, JimThanks for the prompt reply. The suggestion for replicating ICS in ASG is much as I had been doing. I am a little worried that we would have to rely on the Metar to show cirrus as cirrus is generally not regarded as significant and rarely gets reported in Metars. The two suggestions in your link Damian are something I will try, though you say 'Force lowest Ceiling' is set by default. It isn't in my version (build 452), so I have been running with the suggested state anyway. Chris's approach to building his wonderful sunset images is certainly helpful, though I didn't see any textures labelled as 'dramatic(al)':-hmmm . I did notice in tailoring a sky theme using the detail that some themes have the cirrus textures greyed out, so setting up one's own theme certainly seems the way to go.Mervyn
