Wind Direction effect on aircraft are reversed??

Problem I am noticing on several recent flights

Wind Direction: Updating FSUIPC appears to have fixed the wind direction problem. I am too embaressed to say what version I had running before. :-)Visibility: Still goes unlimited (after updating FSUIPC). I just did a test flight to KDCA and it happened (METAR report was 10sm), Closing and reopening AS6 while I pause my approach corrects the problem with a reload of the weather. The only other info I can add.. is that this problem is intermittent... >>> It happened today before I landed at KLAS, and just now on approach to KDCA. Last night on approach to KSWF, the problem did NOT occur, visibility stayed true to the METAR report which was about 1 mile.- Eric

True, 10SM is unlimited for most reporting stations, but I've had the problem with 6 miles visibility at KDCA... and regardless, 10SM should not appear as unlimited with my settings.Have a good weekend...(rest of..)Eric

Hi guys..Some clarification: When 10SM exists in the METAR this is considered as "10 or greater" and we use weather conditions including humidity and air stability to decide how much "greater" means. Thus with 10SM you can get 10SM to Maximum as influenced by random and conditional influences."Maximum" is as defined in AS by the maximum vis setting (and enforce vis limits option) OR by the sight distance in FS9 (if enforce vis limits off) OR by FSUIPC if visibility limit-related options are enabled (we recommend all FSUIPC wx settings off).Your "Depict FS9 Haze Layer" option also has an effect. If on, the vis is handled by FS9 when below approximately 5000ft. As you climb, AS graduation will take over the real-time effect (if enabled) to gradually clear up to maximum. If Depict FS9 haze layer is off, AS always controls the vis on a real-time basis. If the visibility is indeed going beyond the maximum as explained above, then there is a problem. That should not happen, and might be related to unexpected FSUIPC settings or other AS/FS options. First thing to check would be to use the "Set Defaults" button in AS options to go to initial defaults, and "Wx Setting Off" in FSUIPC to see if the problem is related to any non-default option. If vis is going above 10SM when under 10SM in the METAR (i.e. 7) and in effect the depiction is wrong, then it might be related to a saved flight/theme interfering with the weather as set by AS. The solution in this case is to simply "Clear Wx" via FSUIPC which will reset things. Please let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance. Would also be happy to troubleshoot this with you offline at [email protected],

>Hi,>>10SM is unlimited for FS04. Are you saying that 10SM gives you>forever clear or 40 with your settings?>>Hope this helps,>JimYes. 100% clarity, but only in the lowest level. If I go into SLEW mode, and rise... I return to limited vis. I took Damian's suggestions... about resetting FSUIPC settings...etc. Didn't help.It must be something that changed when I installed the first ASv6 update. This was not happening before.I will continue to mess around with it, and let you know if I find gold.- Eric

Hi Eric,Interesting. FS9 haze depiction on? If so, I wonder if the base is not getting set correctly. It is possible there is a station database error. Can you give me instructions on duplicating this with a static wx file (i.e. specific archive date/time) with the location, etc.? [email protected]. Thanks!
