February 5, 200620 yr HiWithin the options page of ASv6, what is the correct setting for Minimum Visabilty(sm) ? At default it is at 0 but this always gives me a grey sky. I have changed it to 10 & this stopd the greyed out sky effect but was wondering what works best.At the moment the settings are as follows:Minimum Visabilty(sm) = 10Maximum Visabilty(sm) = 59thanksMike
February 5, 200620 yr Hi Mike,It's one of those "beauty in the eye of the beholder" conditions. You use whatever looks the best to you!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 6, 200620 yr Minimum visibility of 10 obviously will never give you an IFR weather. Maybe you don't care but just wanted to point this out.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
February 6, 200620 yr Hence the reason for my post, If set at 0 every time I just get fog & greyed out skys, so what setting do you have?Mike.
February 6, 200620 yr Mike,I use ZERO.This sets your minimum visibility only. If I fly in weather that calls for say visibility of 10 miles I don't see any fog and greyed skies. Not sure what your problem is.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
February 6, 200620 yr Hi All,Let's keep things helpful and friendly here OK!Mike, in another thread, wondered about the FS04 condition of grey/white low clouds that are always used to control visibility, especially under low visibility conditions. My suggestion was to limit his minimum visibility, which is now what he is trying to do. Rightly so, he has started a new thread and is looking for other users settings. This is more of an opinion thread then an informational thread, that's it.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

February 7, 200620 yr Well, let's just say I got a gut feeling that things may have been heading the wrong way. I hope I am mistaken!!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
February 7, 200620 yr Hi Jim,I just wanted to know what settings other users had as per my original post & clearly asked Michal what settings he was using. As I was getting a lot of greyed out skys about 30 seconds or so once ASv6 had loaded into fs9 which i asked in another thread & have tried a few settings to stop that from happening.Just whanted to know what ofther users had their setting at as 0 for me is clearly not working even though the metar says clouds-broken or few, with it set at 0 I get grey foggy skys.Wish I never posted now:( Thanks AnywayMike Allen
February 7, 200620 yr Hi Mike,I know you have tried 10 sm. Now try 5 and see. Yes, you will get grey, but in the near distance.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
