March 13, 200620 yr Sorry if this is a silly question, but......I use Ground Environment textures in FS9. If I use AS6 as my weather engine, and it is snowing...... will the ground be white ?Peter Peter Schluter
March 13, 200620 yr Hi,Yes, it should be in real life, but it may not happen in an area where the season is set to Summer. FS uses the season setting more than the specific weather conditions. Go to the Southern Hemisphere and find snow in the mountains and see what textures are used! Also the reverse is true: in Michigan we haven't had snow for weeks but FS04 keeps using the hard winter textures.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
March 14, 200620 yr Ya, Jim.. That was always on my wish lists for future FS releases. The ability to control snow coverage without having to lie using a different day/month/season. Chicago has also been snow free for most of the winter, and it bugs me in the sim when I have to cheat back to November in the sim, to get the proper look while flying.Neil :)
March 15, 200620 yr Right! You did post that somewhere along with a Boston flyer with the same request. How was YOUR weather change in the past 48 hours! We went from the upper 60's to the lower 30's over night, and the winds have been blowing for 24 hours now. No power outages yet though!! Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
March 15, 200620 yr Jim, the wind was relentless on Monday and Tuesday, temps fluctuating in the 40's, but after Sat & Sun in the 60 degree area, it's all rotton.I don't want to hijack this thread, but wanted to tell you that I have been using more downloaded weather recently, and it's been awsome. See ya!Neil :)
