ASV6 and FS9 location mismatch.

Hi guys,New user here. Excellent programme!! One problem though. I have set the aircraft location to EGLL stand xxx. No matter what way I start AS it seems to default to DGTK as the nearest station. Even with its default startup location set to EGLL and a flight plan loaded and processed starting at EGLL. So I basically get WX for Africa in London.I am using alot of other addons all which read EGLL as the location so its not an FSUIPC/Widefs problem. Using latest FSUIPC/WIDEFS and AS and the update from the forums. All PCs running on XP pro sp2 with no firewall in place.RegardsJames

Hi James,Sorry you are having a problem. I just tried this and things work OK. Please post your ASv6.ini file and we will take a look at your settings.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Hi James,If the closest stations is showing DGTK then you are getting 0/0 lat lon coordinates, or rather NIL, from the FSUIPC connection. This can be caused by FSUIPC registration problems. Please take a look at your FSUIPC.log and see if it shows any registration/accreditation issues. If so, please post here or send to [email protected] and I'll have a look. Thanks,

Hi guys, Got my wife to email me the logs, nothing in FSUIPC. Regs are good. BUT I did find this in wideserver.ini with referance to the PC that ASV6 is on.James

Hi James,There is something going on there with the WideFS setup. As you can see in the log there are invalid packets, and also what appears to be a startup configuration confusion/problem with the network setup and server address.I would highly recommend disabling IPX and going all IP... IPX has probably 30 different things that can go wrong that all need to be considered (wideFS docs) where IP is much simpler. As to why other add-ons would run ok on that machine even though no packets are getting through to the server is quite mysterious! If you continue to have problems please e-mail me your wideclient and wideserver logs as well as FSUIPC.log from a problematic session and I will investigate some more...Best,

Hi guys,I think killing IPX has helped. The whole thing seems to work fine now. I also deleated the widefs client.exe and installed Petes latest intrim build. The bindings in this particular client PC had been to IPX. All IP now. Thanks for the help.#### fine piece of software.James
