Manual Time Changes in FS9?

Featured Replies

Sir,In reading the posting from Vox-TM, I also have a question along those lines. I also normally fly "in the past" so to speak due to my work schedule. I normally use downloaded weather from the archives to match my flight time. However, I noticed that when I do my set up and auto submit my weather influenced textures that it uses the current system date/time with the archive data to determine the intial weather. I normally turn off the TAF processing just during set up to get it more accurate for the flight time. Is there a way to better do this or even is it possible that an intial flight time option could be included in a future update?BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr.com/bmbanister/BannerSig_BMBanister.jpgAMD Athlon XP 2600, Asus A7V600, 1GB PC3200 DDR, NVidia 128MB GeForce 6800, SB Live

Hi,Try this:1. Start ASv6.2. Load your weather file.3. Load your flight plan or at least set your departure airport.4. Start FS04 and fly.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

I guess I'm not being clear what I'm asking about. I totally understand (or at least I think I do) the procedures to set up the weather. Before starting FS9, I crank up AS6, download the archive (normally just a single one of the hour of my flight time start), load the flight plan, and hit refresh. This processes the initial weather set and auto submits the textures. Correct to this point, right? What I noticed is that since FS9 isn't loaded, AS6 uses the current system time. I noticed that since I also normally use TAF processing, the initial set was sometimes much different from what the METAR read. Therefore, I have been leaving TAF unchecked during startup so that it will use the METAR to select the initial set and not extrapolate the weather from the TAF. I was just checking to make sure this is the best way to do it when using archived weather or suggest the possibility of a date/time block be added to the flight plan menu in a future update. Finally, let me be clear, in the big scheme of things, this in no way detracts from what I think is the best single add-on for FS9.BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr.com/bmbanister/BannerSig_BMBanister.jpgAMD Athlon XP 2600, Asus A7V600, 1GB PC3200 DDR, NVidia 128MB GeForce 6800, SB Live

Hi Brad,Wx Influenced textures uses your current weather file and your departure point. I know it looks like ASv6 is loading textures multiple times and it is. But based on what you have said I would suggest that things are good and you are flying with the most current wx Influenced textures. If you wnat to avoid multiple texture loads: set ASv6 to Start Paused. Then do all your preliminary work and lastly hit Refresh, right before you want to start FS04.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
