  1. Thanks, that will help until I can find something. The sad truth is I saw a chart years ago when I first purchased the aircraft but didn't save it. I have never been able to find it again.
  2. I have been flying both the Alphasim and Area 51 C-5 aircraft. Both are really lacking in the documentation of flight performance parameters. Right now I'm specifically looking for information on optimal altitudes for maintaining normal cruise at different aircraft weights? However, any and all performance data would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  3. I am currently a user of ASE and use it for both FSX and FS9. I would like to upgrade to AS2012 and need two know if the two can coexist together since I would still be using ASE for my FS9 installation. I have ASE set up on a separate laptop and networked to my sim desktop. AS2012 would be set up on the same laptop. I'm really more worried about the licensing than I am the actual operation since I would never be running both at the same time. Thanks Brad
  4. RIP "Opa". My condolences go out to all his family & friends. As is evident in this forum, there are certainly a lot of them. Brad
  5. Jim,You asked for a bump.I worked ASE pretty hard over the holiday and everything is still working fine. :( I do wish it wouldn't totally clear weather on a manual refresh since I like to give it one just before I enter the suppression range from my destination to ensure I have the most current weather.Brad
  6. I decided to give this update another go. I've been using it 3 days this time it seems to be working just fine. Not sure what the issue was last time. I'm glad because I really like the improvements you made. Thanks for that.I will ask one querstion as it does do one thing I am not sure it should. Is it supposed to clear all weather if I do a manual refresh?Brad
  7. Having those on prevent a sudden weather change or performance hit (FPS) during a critical stage of flight.
  8. I tried using 642 with FS9 but every few minutes it clears all the weather, then starts a new download. When it finishes I get the "initial weather depiction complete" message. After trying several flights I have gone back to 586 and it works no problem (as it did before).Brad
  9. I know ASE does not have a specific option for TAF Processing like AS6.5 did, at least not one that I see, but does ASE have a Dynamic TAF Effect/Element in the background to simulate weather in the future using TAF reports? If so, what is the best ASE option set up to get this effect? I normally leave it on "force Sim time" but it seems to always use the current METAR even if my sim time is set ahead of real world time. Should this remain checked or should I uncheck both "force sim time" and "force real time"? I am using the B586 version of ASE.Thanks
  10. That cfg piece from FFG only adds a single loadpoint to the model which I am guessing the Mike Stone model probably already has. some of the values are also tied to things like the model centerpoint, so importing one aircraft cfg to another is always hit or miss. However, the basic advice is correct. Editing that portion of the cfg allows you to add the cargo station or even customize the passenger and crew area.Something like this would be a very basic tweak to allow changing weight for crew, pax, and cargo: max_number_of_stations=50station_load.0=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000, crewstation_load.1=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000, paxstation_load.2=0.000000,0.000000,0.000000,0.000000, cargoYou could be more exact by adding the coordinates (x,y,z) of the model where the weight resides. 0,0,0 keeps it at the center point of the model. The first 0 is the weight itself which you can type the default value of whatever you want.

Rich,I apologize for the slow/non-existant response from the VPA staff. As Phil has said, our founder and web site guru joined the ranks of parenthood this Sunday so we are a bit behind the power curve. Add to that being a worldwide group across a dozen timezones can make things problematic at times. Regardless, I will see if I can get into that area of the website and at least find out why the exam request didn't send one out. That should be automatic. Shoot me an Email so I can try to help you out directly at operationsmgr_at_virtualpilots.org.
  12. Thanks, I think I understand for future flights. If I want the METAR, then set to real time. If I want the TAF, then set to sim time.Brad
  13. Gents,First thing. I understand Historical mode when in the offline mode. My questions relate to on-line only.I am curious about the difference between running with On-line Dynamic Data in Historical mode or just checking the box for "Force to Sim Time"? Neither "Force to Real Time" or "Force to Sim Time" is checked when in historical mode is why I am asking. On the flip side of this.I am still curious how ASA handles flights set to the future. Does it use current weather METAR or the TAF? Does "Force to Sim Time" or "Force to Real time" affect whether the METAR or TAF is used? Thanks in advance for your support.
