May 3, 200620 yr Not sure if it's going to be a bug report, but here go two problems.1. With all suppression specified, plus wind smoothing in FSUIPC, still upon update the weather is changing very, very sharply. Just had it updated, the aircraft jumped, and FSPASSENGERS registered G-force 2.10.2. Every x minutes, asg.exe opens and closes the floppy drive.thanks,Vadim Rapp
May 4, 200620 yr Hi,Please try Build 485 and let us know!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter
May 4, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,Yes, please try the latest build to make sure it is not already fixed? Also you may want to increase your suppression range (try 200-250nm) to prevent local changes (helpful in rural/oceanic areas). If using time accel, make sure you don't go faster than 2X if you expect all weather simulation to keep up properly. If you need to go faster, lower your update interval to 5 mins (minimum). Does that help?Never heard of a floppy drive access on application load before! Our app certainly is not scanning for such. Something outside of AS seems to be causing this. Have you tried uninstall/reinstall to rule out any installation/setup issues?Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

May 8, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,Well, that's a first...I can only guess that it has something to do with some file i/o operation but I can guarantee that at no time are we looking at anything other than the files installed with ASv6/ASG as specified in the registry. You mention it happens every "x" minutes. Can you be more specific? Does it occur at a specific process (indicated by status message) or randomly? Any more information you can provide would help to find out what is going wrong and potentially provide a fix.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
May 9, 200620 yr It occurs with the message "updating cirrus graphics only (fs active)".thanks,Vadim Rapp
May 9, 200620 yr Regarding the sudden change - I think the easiest way to see it is by launching ASv6 already during the flight (with predefined static clear weather) and letting it to do the update. One second ago the sky was clear, suddenly I'm in the middle of the clouds. Suppression range = 200nm.Vadim Rapp
May 9, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,That is correct. On first update AS always updates the weather "forcefully". We have to start with something. When aloft, after initial load, suppression keeps stations from within the suppression range from being updated to prevent anything from changing instantly. Stations beyond your suppression range continue to be updated, so that as you fly along, you fly into the changing/changed weather areas and have up-to-date depiction. This is explained in the "Updates and Wx Suppression" chapter of the manual.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
May 9, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,So if you disable auto-graphics submissions the "floppy seek" stops? Can you confirm this? If so please show your ASG.ini (modulesASGraphics) as it might give some clues. Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

May 10, 200620 yr Yes, I understand that. I think it would be impressive if AS had something like "gradual suppression range", i.e. the suppression range was not in distance but in time, so, for example, the sky would gradually become covered with clouds in, say, 10 minutes. I have to say though I don't 100% understand the point of the suppression range: if it has strict limits, then, as soon as I cross them, won't the weather change as instantly as without the suppression range?Currently, the clouds pattern does change instantly upon the refresh in ASV6. Not very realistic, especially when compared to the beauty of the clouds themselves.
