Disabling Weather Radar in ASV 6

Featured Replies

I do not need to use Weather Rada and it has caused some performance problems in the past. With earlier versions of ASV updating would reinstall it, but I do not know about the present ASV 6. I am using the latest build of AS 6.I am trying to troubleshoot some stuttering and would like to make absolutely sure Weather Radar is not running. Can I uninstall that sub program? If not how can I disable it completely? Thanks,Greg

One other piece of information. I still have AS 4.5 and plan to uninstall it no real reason to keep it. On Control Panel it lists Active Radar update 1.2. Which version of Active Sky does it relate to AS 4.5 or ASV 6.0? I need to know if I can uninstall the update as well.ThanksGreg

Hi,AR 1.2 is from AS4.5Right now we are at AR 1.35Just cut the ActiveRadar.dll out of the Modules folder and paste in a safe spot. That will prevent it from loading when FS04 starts.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/

Is it really necessary to remove it from the modules folder? What i mean is that if i don't start it with 'ctrl f12' it's not running either, right? The only thing i can imagine is that when removing it from the modules folder it won't be loaded into memory either?Martin

Hi Martin,You are correct! The first poster wanted it uninstalled, and moving the .dll is the easiest method, especially if he ever wanted to try things out.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
