August 14, 200619 yr Hi, Just a quick question, is it possible to download weather for the whole globe in one download then turn off your internet connection and manage to see cloudsfor the whole route. Because at the moment when i do this i eventually lose any cloud formations so i must download the weather again. Thanks
August 14, 200619 yr Hi,Each download from the server does contain worldwide data. Then a certain radius of weather is written into FS04.Save the file using the Save wx button and then you can fly in Offline Mode. I think this is the part that you are not doing.Remenber to keep ASv6 running in either case.Let me know if you need more help with this!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
August 14, 200619 yr Author So if i saved the weather like mentioned above would that allow me to do a long flight with clouds visable or would there come a point where i would have to connect to the internet again and download the weather data.
August 14, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Once you have the weather file you want and are in offline mode, you can fly as long as you want with that weather, wherever you want, world-wide.If you want dynamics with a single wx file, you can also enable TAF processing (just be careful and read up on this in the docs to avoid unpredictable results), so that the wx changes gradually according to forecasted conditions. You can also download an archive set for offline playback (i.e. several hours/days worth). After you've got the weather data downloaded, there is no need to connect again and in playback mode the wx will change, hour by hour, exactly how it did at that historical moment in time.As Jim mentioned, the weather files are completely world-wide so your location or distance traveled is completely irrelevant.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
