time zones and other active sky questions

Featured Replies

Hello, today is my second day with active sky wxre in CFS2, using the default fsuipc "which does not allow me to make basic adjustments as per read me page 6 to 10" awaitting the activation of the 3.7 module soon i hope.I have 2 questions from todays trials.1)Time zone:I am flying missions which start at 7 a.m in New Guinea and it is 4.20pm in switzerland right now, checking the international time zone i see the solomons, marrianas and NG as 8 hrs ahead, therefore 0.20 hrs past midnight europe time. When i fly in the mission online its as per the missions details therefore 7 .a.m, i tried changing to 5 a.m. and it was 5 a.m. judging from the light and sun, should'nt it be 20 minutes past midnight?2)I tried one mission in the carolines and i cleared the weather from the mission as per the justflight read me, started cfs2 and then active sky and went flying. On the first attempt there was lots of clouds,on the second attempt there was none at all,i tried one more time and again there was nothing, active sky does pass by with all details.can someone please explain why is this happening? regardsamingaz

Hi,1. wxRE does not set time zones or change the time in the game. All wxre will do is use the current weather at your current location.2. Maybe the weather data called for CLR? The active METAR from wxRE would show this. You can copy and paste it here.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

To correct Flightsim's notorious timezone issues, I highly recommend Joshua Robert's (3D softwarks) FS-Real-Time utility/add-on. It is now payware but includes corrected time-zone files as well as GUI front-end to better set and control the simulators time during a flight. I believe the demo version can still be downloaded from the library here at AVSIM. Highly recommended and routinly supported and updated as well.
