September 4, 200619 yr I looked out my window today and saw that some thunder heads where rolling in and I said to myself that it would be a nice challenge to fly thought them.So I launched ASv6 and loaded a flight plan that would take me thought the brewing storm. I loaded ASGraphics and set it to WX influenced skies. Imagine my surprised when FS2004 launched and no clouds could be seen. What am I doing wrong? I've noticed that FS2004 automatically switches to 'user-defined' weather when in AS is running. Am I missing a setting?
September 4, 200619 yr Hi,Let's review your settings:1. Weather in FS04 set to User Defined is correct. And you do not set any weather in FS04.2. Dynamic Change is set to None.3. In ASv6 Online Updates set On.4. Did any stations along your route report storms? If no weather stations are reporting storms, then FS04 is not going to have storms.5. How far away from stations were you flying? Once you are outside of a station then you get a blending of nearby stations.6. Does ASv6 recognize your current location?Remember that a very local storm may not be picked up by any station and then not be shown. This is especially true when stations are many miles apart as they are in some parts of the world. Please let us know about all of this,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 4, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,Just to clarify, ASv6 cannot simulate exactly what's outside your window. It can come close in certain circumstances which require the following to be true:- You have an accurate METAR reporting station in the immediate area- The conditions have been present at that location for at least 1 hour- You are using Online mode with a recent update- An FS9 Wx station exists within the immediate areaBest, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
