September 4, 200619 yr Hey fellas,Ok i'm a little confused or it just might be me being stupid buti've just got GE PRO 2 and updated my Activesky. But i'm not sure how to go about what this integration is supposed to do.Heres what i think i should be doing and you tell me if i'm wrong.1) I install copious amounts of ground textures in GE Pro for all the weather conditions.2) I set the option 'Enable GE Pro Submit on new FP' in AS. Then3) I import a flightplan and load weather as usual in AS.4) I then press the GE Pro button in AS.5) Ge Pro does its thing and I load my saved flight. Is that correct? Are there any other options i should activate in AS or GE?On a side note, and i undersdatnd there maybe some bias in here but who has the better clouds, Active Sky or GE PRo?ThanksDaniel 🛫
September 5, 200619 yr Hi Daniel,You almost have it!!Steps 1-3 are perfect and once you procees that plan GE Pro will automatically run, so no need for #4. That GE Pro button is used when you want to base textures on a fetched or current location. And for #5 you will be prompted by GE Pro if you wish to start a saved flight.( But not a planned flight)Lastly, GE Pro has no clouds, just ground and sky textures. You would need FE for clouds. Not sure if that is what you meant. Then it is up to the user. Both ASG and FE have great looking clouds! Please let us know if you need more help with this,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 5, 200619 yr Author Thanks Jim,So all the sky textures in GE Pro are just for the sky colour for different weather conditions? One last question, how does GE Pro deal with changing weather conditions in FS. Lets say I'm planning an 8 hour flight and I process my plan and my weather and when I depart, AS6 is reporting rain at my arrival airport but after 8 hours the weather there is now sunny. Will I have cloudy, overcast textures or is it dynamic like AS6.Thanks Daniel 🛫
September 5, 200619 yr Hi Daniel,Right, with some softening of the horizon through color adjustments. No, textures cannot be dynamic except for cirrus clouds. This is because FS04 locks in the textures as soon as you start it up. We will see what FSX brings in this area.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
