September 22, 200619 yr I have a strange problem. For the last couple of days, all I am getting in AS6 B523 is clear weather, not a single cloud in the sky, despite the uncoded metar on the left side saying it is in various states of overcast. On the right side in the decoded area it says Vis 9999 meters, 10 sm, Clouds: None, Precip: None.Gepro lists the correct cloud cover when it downloads the AS6 metar.I have tried many airports large and small, and this happens everywhere. If I use FS9 real world weather it displays the cloud cover and precip properly.Everything was working well with this build before. I haven't changed anything. It just stopped giving cloud cover yesterday. I tried both servers, and got the same thing.I then uninstalled and reinstalled, and the same thing is still happening.Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,Bill
September 23, 200619 yr Hi Bill,That is a strange one! Start up FS04 and go to the FS04 weather screen and see if Clear Skies is chosen or if User Defined weather is marked. It should be on User Defined which ASv6 sets automatically. Are you using the clear weather button in FSUIPC?Does ASv6 recognize your current location?Try this: set FSUIPC to default settings and weather settings Off.Please let us know if this works,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

September 23, 200619 yr Hi Terry,Please use the FSUIPC button. I am not sure if the MS option clears everything out. It may or may not.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 24, 200619 yr Author Thanks for the reply Jim,I have it set to user defined, and I tried the clear weather button. But it still doesn't give me any clouds.I also set FSUIPC to default settings and weather settings to Off.As6 does recognize my location, and gives a proper metar stating the level of overcast in the left column of the GUI. In the decoded column on the right, It gives the proper temp and pressure etc.., but for the clouds and precip it says none. It does this for every location I have tried.Once AS6 has loaded the weather, instead of seeing the clouds appear, the sky stays clear, but the green scrolling bar, is listing the cloudy conditions? If I close AS6 and use FS9 real weather, I get a hockey sock full of clouds for the same location.I uninstalled AS6 again, and then re-installed, but this time didn't install any update, just used the original, and got the same cloudless issues. I then installed SU5, and no change, same deal. I have even tried deleting the FSUIPC Dll, and other FSUIPC related files such as .ini etc.. and then reinserting, but still the same. This really has me baffled, as I mentioned in my first post, It just started doing this all of a sudden, with no changes made to other areas of my system. It was working like a charm a few days ago. Thanks,Bill
September 24, 200619 yr Hi Bill,I would like you to try an uninstall-reinstall cycle of ASv6. Then let us know what is happening.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
September 25, 200619 yr Author Hi Jim,After my third uninstall-install cycle, I figured out what the problem was. On the last install, I didnt change anything in the preferences, leaving it at default, and everything worked well with proper cloud cover. Then I installed the SU5 upgrade, again not changing anything in the preferences, and it also worked well with proper cloud cover. Then I went into the preferences to start setting things up, and I realized the bonehead thing that I had done. The reason I wasn't getting any clouds was that I put a 0 in the Cloud Layer Limit box, and left the check mark in the Limit Cloud Layers box. Instead of just taking out the check mark in the Limit Cloud Layer box. And the funny thing is that I knew better!I not only did this originally when I wanted to see how things looked without limiting the cloud layers, and then forgot that I had done that when I was troubleshooting, but I also did it again on the first two uninstall-installs. A classic brain #### on my part! Thanks again Jim for all your support!Bill
