Are you seeing default Aircraft Marshallers on arrival?
I found that to get the default Aircraft Marshallers I had to raise the Characters Quantity to ultra and the Variety to high

CPU BOTTLENECK
Are you using MSI Afterburner? It has been noted that it doesn't play nice with a 9800X3d . That is what I have, and I get a severe stutter fest even if I only use the FPS monitor and not any of the hardware control functions. I have a 4070 super and run triple monitors at 1440P. I have most settings at Ultra/High and get 35-40 FPS smooth as glass . I don't use any frame enhancement functions. I don't know if it affects 7800X3d, but it might be worth looking into. I would think you should get the same performance as I do with your setup.

Authentic ATC Language
The Authentic ATC Language feature is cool, but as mentioned results in a mixture of underscore, dash and gobbledegook. Unfortunatly to get rid of all that you have to change the setting to the other setting and it gets rid of all the gobbledegook but also the accents.

Flashing, blinking MS2024 Tripple Monitor grass, trees
The ground textures in my MS2024 flash and blink in clumps like a light bulb that is burning out. The whole screen does not do this, just small areas. Many at a time, like a string of blinking Christmas lights. It stops as soon as I get in the air, and is fine until I land, then it starts again. I have a 9800X3D, and an RTX4070 Super with three 27" 1440P monitors. I average around 40 FPS with no stuttering. I don't use any frame gen or scaling programs. I have tried with NVIDIA shaders on and off and it doesn't make any difference. I don't have this issue if I only run in single monitor. I don't have any problems in MSFS 2020, so it is not my monitors or connections. I have not found any solutions for this, but I did come across a post on the official forum where other people running multi monitors are also encountering this, and they said it has been reported to Asobo. I was wondering if anyone here is having this problem and have found a solution, and if it has been fixed in the SU2 Beta. Thanks, Bill
- Unable to start MSFS 2020. 2024 works fine

Nvidia overlay doesn't show FPS anymore
Mine is stuck at 59. It works normally during loading and then once I'm in ready to fly it goes to 59 and stays there, I don't have Vsync on or a max frame rate set . I have a 180 hz monitor with Gsync on. The GPU and CPU % work. I have tried with Gsync off and it still stays at 59.

MSFS2024 Versions- Any difference in core features?
Thank you all for your replies and opinions., and thank you Paul. That's exactly what my reasoning was when I made this post.

MSFS2024 Versions- Any difference in core features?
I am aware of the advertised differences of the amount of aircraft and hand crafted airports quantities between the versions, but I was wondering if there could be any difference under the hood between each version? For example could the standard version not include things like ship traffic, seasons, less career options or animals? I don't mean these specifically but just to give a general idea of what I am getting at. I have the premium deluxe edition of MSFS 2020, so I don't know if there is currently any difference between this and the standard version of MSFS 2020. I have a home cockpit and only fly one aircraft moving continuously from airport to airport around the world so I don't need more aircraft and airports than what the standard version offers. I am just concerned that I might be missing out on some key new features if I don't get premium deluxe again and just go with the Standard edition. Thanks, Bill

Preparing for FS2024
I am wondering this too. I have a 1 TB hard drive and only have 230 MB left on it so I will have to delete MSFS 2020. is there a way to completely delete it without any leftover files in other directories when a standard uninstall is done. Is there anything that needs to be copied and saved for the new sim? Bill

Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS
Does the time of day setting in your flight factor into GAIST ultra and the new Real time versions, or do they run on a real world UTC time clock and the time setting on your sim flight doesn't alter the ship traffic? For an example, if I am in Canada and it is 0900 real time, but in the sim I am flying in a country that is six or more hours ahead in real time. If Iset the flight time in the sim to 0900 so I can fly in daylight, will I get the traffic from the real world time of the country I am flying in? Thanks, Bill

Ask Dovetail Games about DTG Flight School & Flight Simulator
Hi Martin, The majority of the components in most home cockpits are basic electronic toggle switches, rotary encoders and potentiometers. They are used for making panels, in home made throttle quadrants etc..To make these work you need a program such as FSUIPC to interface them. I can understand your reasons for not wanting to support FSUIPC, but I was wondering if the new sim will have the capability built into it to perform this function? If it will not, then this will exclude the majority of the Home Cockpit Community from being able to use the new sim. Thanks, Bill

How to get FS Global Real Weather looking like ASN?
The clouds are like that in FSGRW because that was probably what was reported in the metar. The clouds aren't always big puffy cumulus in the real world, and FSGRW reflects that. That is what I like the most about FSGRW. There are often times when I do see cumulus as well, but it only when they are really supposed to be there. If you do however wish to always have cumulous, you can change the realism settings in the configuration settings in the menu as Matthias has pointed out. Bill

At what monitor size does FSX become lifesize?
boris4356 replied to airernie's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI use 2D cockpit windows, and delete the 2d cockpit panel. Some aircraft don't come with 2d panels. If that is the case you will have a clear view by pressing F9 or F10 I think it is. I made my own gauge panel in Flight Sim Panel Studio for the bottom monitor. You could also just use the original 2d cockpit panel on the bottom monitor as well, or if the aircraft doesn't have one, use the VC and change the view so you just see the gauges. Bill

At what monitor size does FSX become lifesize?
boris4356 replied to airernie's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI think the main thing to consider here to make an accurate comparison, is that if you use a virtual cockpit you are pretty much only seeing 1/3 of the world. The other 2/3 is taken up by the gauges. In a real world aircraft, the gauges are not in your main field of view like they are in a VC. It doesn't matter what size monitor you have, the ratio will always be the same. I have five 24" monitors for my main views at eye level without gauges in a wideview networked cockpit. I have a 40" tv below the main views for the gauges, and I feel it gives me a fairly accurate view of the world. Bill

I'm populating the P3D seas.....with MyCaptain...

I'm populating the P3D seas.....with MyCaptain...
I tried playing around with the MyCaptain program, and found it a bit confusing at first to set up my own routes. I did catch on, but the program kept crashing, and I ended up giving up on it . I found Henrik Neilsen's ai boat programs in the AVSIM Library. He has an ongoing freeware project to populate the worlds oceans, and it is really good! Bill

Home Cockpit....getting field of view angled up on screen
Hi, To do this in the aircraft.cfg, go to the [views] section. You will see something like this: eyepoint=8.62, -1.4, 5.35 The first number adjusts the view Forward(increase) or Backward(decrease) The middle number adjusts the view Left(decrease) or Right(increase) The last number adjusts the view Up(increase) or Down(decrease) It is a very frustrating process to end up getting the correct views. You make an adjustment, then you have to load FSX to see if that is what you want. If not, you have to exit FSX, go back to the.cfg change it, then load FSX again etc.. etc.... I ended up using OpusFSX camera system to get my views setup. You see the view on the screen in FSX, and adjust it to where you want it. Bill

Perfectly reasonable thread locked - why?
I was a Canadian Submariner and spent a lot of time in the UK back in the late 70's early 80's. I lived on Fish&Chips while I was over there! They were still wrapped in newspaper back then. I really miss them! Bill

Help needed - FSGenesis
Hi Rob, I am not sure if the FS Genesis Next map areas are a much higher resolution or not. I don't know very much about the technical aspects of mesh. There is a good explanation of how Pilots do their mesh as opposed to others on their website. I tried FS Genesis Next Map South America, and a few other Next Map areas before Justin sold his company. I found them to have an excessive amount of holes, spikes, plateaus etc. I ended up disabling them and reverting back to the older mesh which didn't have as many issues. I don't know if the new buyers have since fixed them up, or if they are still the same. I think the airports that are on plateaus or in holes in FS Global areas are supposed to be fixed in the Vector update. I am not sure if it will fix FS Genesis issues. Even without Vector, I have found there to be far fewer issues with FS Global Ultimate then I had with FS Genesis. Bill

FS Global Real Weather and WideView
Hi Dust, I don't have P3D, but as far as I know the current version of FSGRW will not work with v2. I think the P3D v2 compatible version is due out very soon. Bill

Help needed - FSGenesis
I was a FS Genesis lifetime member as well. I found that the quality of their products the last couple of years before the sale had gone downhill. Justin was putting things out too fast without much quality control to try and make a quick buck. He also made a lot of promises that he never kept. He would start to update an older product, and then drop it to go to something he thought he had a better chance of making money on. I have since moved on to FS Global Ultimate. I have found it to be much better quality then all of the FS Genesis products. Bill

Logbook.bin
Hi Michael, Sorry for taking so long to reply back to your earlier post. I fly the A2A B17 all the time, and I always seem to have instrument time recorded in the logbook after each flight. No idea why it does that. I don't have any issues with the flights being written to the logbook though. I have been using the same logbook file for a long time copying it into new installs etc.. Do you do any manual editing of the logbook? I seem to recall reading somewhere that it can screw up the logbook if you add or delete entries. Bill
