  1. Your welcome Frank! Bill
  2. This is absolutely amazing software! It is continually evolving with new features being added on a regular basis. It can be used in all modes. You can set it up to use 2d panoramic windows and virtual cockpits in windowed mode or full screen. It is extremely easy to use. It has real world weather, networking functions, camera shake effects, and you can set up various camera views. The developer support is like no other I have seen. It feels like they are custom building the software specifically for you. Any problems, issues, wish lists, that I have mentioned to Stephen are often fixed or implemented by the next day with a new beta release. I highly recommend this software. It will greatly enhance your simming experience! Bill
  3. This product is like a combined WideView, and EZDOK without the headaches. In the near future it will have synced AI traffic, additional dynamic head movement, and dynamic weather. It is very easy to use and set up. The customer support is absolutely amazing. I emailed Stephen a few times with questions and he replied within a very short time frame. He has gone out of his way to update the program to accomodate issues I was having with the number of joystick cards the program supported. He is working on seeing if he can provide updates for enhanced functionality in the view system for my B17 cockpit. On other forums you can see where he has done things like this for other cockpit builders. I highly recommend this software! It is constantly updated, and just keeps getting bigger and better as time goes on. Bill
  4. I have NVidia cards in one networked computer, and AMD cards in the other. I have a five monitor view setup, with the front three AMD Eyefinity, and the two sides NVidia, networked with WideView. All five monitors are new 24" Samsungs. The problem with running cards from two different companies is that the colours don't match up, and there is a drastic transition from the front to the side monitors. Also it is a pain having different drivers, configs, shader mods etc....for each computer. I had to make a decision as to what company I was going to go exclusively with. I have had nothing but headaches with AMD drivers. Eyefinity constantly crashes, flips monitors out of the configuration, looses monitors etc... The FPS tank in heavy weather, even with the shader mods. My NVidia GTX280 handles weather better than the HD6970, and that was my wakeup call. So I decided to go with NVidia now that they have a one card surround solution. In a worse case scenario, it shouldn't be any worse than it was with AMD. Bill I'd be very interested to see how it works out! Bill
  5. I currently have an AMD HD6970, and I am ready to ditch it. I am running an eyefinity setup with three 24" monitors @ 5760x1080. I was wondering if the EVGA GTX 670 with 4 gb video ram would be a good choice for a surround setup? It is only $25 cheaper than a 2 gb GTX680, so I am wondering if the 680 with only 2 gb video ram would be a better choice at realitively the same price point? From what I have read, there is not a huge difference in the performance of a 670 and 680, and FSX is the only thing I run. Would the extra 2 gb VRam make much of a difference in a multi-monitor setup in FSX? I am really unsure of which way to go. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this? Bill
  6. Thanks Jahman!I ordered the hub from Amazon, and it works like a charm! Thanks again for the info!Bill
  7. For pictures and info, here is an ongoing thread on my cockpit:http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=22072Bill
  8. I use EZDOK as well with my Eyefinity setup and was able to set up a VC view exactly how I wanted.Bill
  9. Thanks for all the good info on USB and Hubs Jahman!I have a B-17 based home cockpit that I am currently making more realistic, and I am getting close to a critical shortage of USB ports. I have 4 BU0836X cards, and 2 other brands, and have been trying to figure out my options.Bill
  10. Try here Stephen:http://www.a2asimula...hp?f=29&t=28210Bill
  11. Hi Geoff,Basically you need to use DPDT toggle switches. They have 6 poles. you use one side of 3 poles for your function connections, and the other side of 3 poles for your LED connections.I have a B17 cockpit, and have posted on the A2A forums on how I did things. There are parts of the post where I show this. Here is the link: http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=22072Hope it can help you out. If you need more help just let me know.Bill
  12. I am a cockpit builder with multi-monitors, and absolutely require 2D gauges. I don't need the 2d cockpit bitmaps or photo realistic background, just the 2d gauges themselves. I would not buy an aircraft if it didn't include 2d panels that I could use with Flight Sim Panel Studio to make my own 2d panels. I would buy a complex VC only aircraft, if the 2d gauges were available to purchase as a separate add on. I use the VC view zoomed out to only include the window frame in the upper monitors for the scenery views. Bill
  13. FSUIPC is definitely needed and is in fact essential in the Home Cockpit World to program hardware switches and homemade throttle quadrants etc.. Unless Flight provides some way of interfacing toggle switches etc, then a Home Cockpit will be impossible. I really doubt this feature will be provided. With Pete not intending to develop FSUIPC for Flight, a lot of us will have no other choice but to stay with FSX.Bill
  14. I tried to use this FPS limiter, and placed the two files in the root folder, but then FSX won't open. I get the "Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close"Once I remove the d3d9.dll it is OK again and opens normally.Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? Thanks,Bill
  15. I absolutely love Open Clouds! Looking forward to the next update with icing included!Bill
  16. That would be fantastic! I agree that it should be at a simulation level as well, and will be worth the wait. I have not seen anyone have an addon for the sounds associated with turbulance. This will probably be a first, and will add to the immersion already provided by EZCA.Bill
  17. If it were possible, it would be really neat to have some sound files of shaking and rattling built in that were activated when the aircraft is buffeted around from the weather and turbulance effects. This is probably out of the scope of this add on though. Bill
  18. Thanks so much for this great program! I like the fact that it is simple to use, but so effective!Bill
  19. Hi Gerry,I get most of my switches from here: http://www.a1parts.ca/ Very reasonable prices and fast shipping. I have ordered a lot of my switches, pots, and other parts for my cockpit from them. Bill
  20. Try the program WinSuperMaximize. You can download it from a multitude of locations. It works really well and hides the title bar. You just click on the .exe and it places an icon that looks like a square in the windows task bar. Then all you need to do is click on the icon and it hides the title bar. To get it back again just click on the icon again. If you auto hide the taskbar as well, it looks like you are in full screen. I have been using it for a while now with out any problems. I also get much better performance in windows mode.http://code.google.com/p/winsupermaximize/Bill
  21. Thanks for the reply. I'll check that out. Thanks,Bill
  22. Hi Everyone,I am encountering a very strange problem. I am flying the A2A Accusim B-17, and soon after I start the engines, the ATIS comes on by itself without pressing or changing any frequencies, and will not shut off, no matter what I press. Sometimes it is for an airport that I'm not even at. I can press the freq for the airport I am at, and request flight following, and it works, and I get answered by ATC, but the ATIS MSG keeps looping at the same time.I then tried loading the default Cessna 172, and saved the flight as default with engines running. As soon as I am in the air the ATIS automatically comes on again as well, and will not shut off. I shut down FSX, and restarted the default Cessna flight. The same thing happens.Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? Thanks,Bill
