Server problems?

Featured Replies

On almost every second update AS autogenerates a metar, and the weather changes a lot every 10 minutes. I have not been using AS for the last few days because of this problem.I guess this is a server problem since my AS has been working just fine for about a year.

Hi CB,Sorry for the problem. The servers have not been down so that is not it. Autogen means that the station did not have updated weather so ASv6 uses weather from nearby stations and blends it.Any stations in particular? What do you mean by weather changing a lot? Is it the METARs or the actual weather conditions in FS04?Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi Jim,Well according to the national weather service page the stations i have problems with do have current data. But AS still generates data from them and do not download the correct metar. It does get current metars from some stations, but after the next update it autogenerates a new one even when there is a current metar available. This causes the FS04-weather to change from sunny to rain every 10 minutes, and sometimes up to 40 knots surface winds with the generated metars. Tried a re-install but didnt help.To me it looks like a server-problem, they are not sending current available metars for some stations. I hope you will look into this.I'm flying a lot in Scandinavia, the stations I'm talking about are ENGM, ENBR, ENZV, ESSA and so on.

Hi,Thanks for the information. Please try this: Force the secondary server and see if that helps. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Problem still there. But this seems to happen over Scandinavia only, rest of Europe looks ok. Talked to others flying in this area using AS, and they got the same problem. So there is nothing wrong with my software, its the servers sending wrong data or nothing at all from stations starting with EN and ES. Hope you can check this out.

Hi,Thanks for letting me know. I will point Damian to this thread! Thanks again,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi,There has been a problem with certain stations reporting NIL in between regular reports. It confuses the servers. I have been monitoring this condition for the past month hoping that this problem situation goes away from the source end, but obviously it's here to stay. I am in the progress of coding some new handling for such situation and the servers should be updated within the next hour or so. It will take a while for new correct data to work its way in but by 02:00Z it should all the there and working correctly. Please let me know if you can verify the problem has gone away by then. Thanks a bunch!Best,
