October 19, 200619 yr Could someone offer me some advice please? I have ASV6 Build 523 running on a laptop networked to my PC on which is FS9 with a registered copy of FSUIPC installed . I also have WideFS and Active Radar on the laptop. I have just rebuilt the PC and FS9 runs perfectly. When running Active Sky from the laptom I get the following errors in this order:1. "Your FS folder was not located on this machine. Please browse to it on the next screen".(I do this by browsing to and selecting the main FS9 folder on the main PC through the network connection).2. "Your FS folder is set to MAINPCFS9. Now save your options to apply this new location to your settings".(How do I do this?)3. "Error during FS station database check (step 3)... stations may not be properly configured for extended-coverage weather".Active Sky then finishes loading and seems to work - the problem is every time I run it I get the same series of messages.Help very much appreciated!Thank You.
October 19, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi,#1: Looks good..#2: Go into options and click save...#3: Sounds like permission or path problems when AS attempts check/write a new wx station list database to the required FS file (in Application DataMicrosoftFS9). Check your ASv6.ini for PersonalAppDataPath, it should be set appropriately to the share you have created (i.e. C:Documents and SettingsmynameApplication Data). If you cannot see this folder to share it, in windows explorer, goto Tools, Folder Options, Views, and enable "Show hidden and system files"... Make sure it's set properly for "Allow network users to change my files". Also worth making sure your FS9 share on MAINPC is set to allow write as well (allow network users to change my files).Let us know if this does it?Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
October 20, 200619 yr For point 1, it appears that AS is not able to resolve network connections/mapped drives when it starts. By using the Windows explorer to navigahte these connections before starting AS, all is ok, oterwise you have to locate the FS loacation every time.Steve
