October 21, 200619 yr Hi all,I have been using ASV6 via WideFS for years and everything's alright. However, during FSX installation, I need to reinstall winXP and after that, I got the error 'usernameflight simulator 9network location not found or is not accessible'. However, I have checked everything : In host computer, firewall off, FS9 folder shared, flight simulator files folder shared, application data folder shared. In client PC, ASV6 folder shared. I checked 'My network places' in both PC and all the necessary folders are there. However, when I double click FS9 folder in 'My Network Places' in client PC, the same error 'Access is denied' appeared. Other than FS9 folder, I can access all shaered folders in main PC from 'My Network Places' in client PC. I have tried to set up the network connection again but the same error appeared.I haven't upgraded to ASV6.5 yet. Please help.Daniel
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Daniel,I'll give this a shot.It looks like there is some problem in your sharing options or in your security settings. Make sure you are using your administrator XP account and logged in under that account. Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr Hi Jim,Both my server PC and client PC used administrator XP account, which is the only account in both PCs, to log in. Did FSX do something on FS9 ? All the other shared folders and files could be accessed to each other except FS9 ? Also, after winXP reinstallation, I had almost 65 automatic updates from windows and mostly security updates. Would this affect anything ? If yes, why didn't this affect other shared folders / files but only FS9 ?I tried to use ASG to change the Sky Theme and checked if the files could be submitted to FS9 in my server PC. The same error was found and the submit.log show :Error on submit final copy: C:BaseFolderModulesASGraphicsWorkTexturecumulus01.bmp - Access to the path "Chy01flight simulator 9Texturecumulus01.bmp" is denied. All the other submitted files displayed the same error. The same Access Denial problem was also found in my FS FlightKeeper which displayed similar error !!Daniel
October 21, 200619 yr Commercial Member Hi Daniel,It sounds like "allow network users to change my files" is not properly checked in the share properties. If it is, the share might be corrupt, in which case deleting/resharing the folder and setting the share properties correctly should fix it.Since other add-ons are having similar problems it's obviously outside the realm of AS... You might want to look at any antivirus or firewall software you have installed to make sure it isn't blocking things...Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
