Wrong VATSIM-Data downloaded

Featured Replies

Hallo to everybody,a few days ago I purchased Active Sky 6, especially because I wanted to fly on VATSIM with real clouds, rain, and so on.The problem I have with AS6 is, that sometimes it doesn't use the current METARs on the VATSIM-network."Use VATSIM", "Online Update", and so on are set on the "Options" panel. I create a new flight plan, the weather download works fine and the message "Loading additonal VATSIM date" appears. Then I start the FS9, place my airplane and start the SB. Now SOMETIMES it happens, that the weather data downloaded from VATSIM by AS6 differ from the ones that are really current on VATSIM (they can be seen on the local Controller ATIS, or by typing .metar xxxx into the SB).Is it possible, that AS6 is getting its VATSIM data from a VATSIM server located in the US (I'm located in Germany, Europe) and that this server sometimes doesn't get the current data, especially when there is a lot of traffic on VATSIM?Normally during the day it works fine, but in the evening when more pilots and controllers are online AS6 is downloading sometimes the above mentioned outdated VATSIM-METARs.E.g. yesterday in the evening (around 1800Z): AS6 downloaded VATSIM-METARS from 0620Z, the really current ones on VATSIM were from 1750Z.Is there a possibility to solve that problem, or am I maybe doing something wrong? Thanks in advance!Stefan

Hi,Sorry for the problem. Please make sure that the weather option is Off in SB. Other than that the data we pull is right from VATSIM so you would need to check with them about their data.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Thank you, but "use SB weather" I have already switched off on the SB Options. From another source today I've heard that VATSIM has at the moment some problems with feeding the server from where you pull the data.It was told to me that it is the same source as it is also used by "ServInfo".Regards,Stefan

Just a suggestion:Would it be possible for you to implement an option which VATSIM-Server AS6 should use for pulling the data from into one of the coming AS6 updates? Then I could choose the server I'm also using to connect my SB/FS with, mostly this is the EUROPE-CW or the EUROPE-CE...Some problems with synchronising data among the various VATSIM-servers are well known and I think it would help a lot if the people could use their 'local' server also as the data source for AS6.Regards,Stefan

Hi,Thanks for the observation and suggestion... We'll look into this as a possibility for sure. In the mean time I would suggest disabling the VATSIM option and accepting the AS online weather which a majority of the time is exact as to what VATSIM will be using.Best,
