setting AS in FSX

Featured Replies

HiCould somebody please tell me exactly what I have to do to set AS to work in FSX.I have both Fs9 and FSX on the same machine.I have read the guidelines on setting AS in FSX-but I am a little confused !!do I have to add the FSX path to the ini. file underneath the FS9 pathway????And how do I get the AS clouds to appear in FSX.I have added the FSX path underneath the fs9 but I haven't noticed any improvement in the clouds.Looking forward to all the help.rwy12

Hi,To update the weather stations, yes you need to replace the path. AS clouds will not work in FSX so you don't need to try that anymore. The formats are a bit different and will not work. You can turn off ASG on the ASv6 options page. Please let us know if you need more help,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

>To update the weather stations, yes you need to replace the>path. Hi JimThanks for the quick reply-If I do the above than what happens when Istart FS9-surely AS will not work in FS9 than.Or do I need to create 2 icons for AS,one for FS9 and another for FSX-if so could you please tell me how to.Aplogies for asking the basic but I have very little IT know how.I hope you will be able to help.Qas.

Hi,Yes, ASv6.5 will work for both. AS just uses that line to update the weather stations, and that happens on a rare occasion. You can watch for the message and then just change it back for one startup cycle.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
