Downloading and installing METAR data

Featured Replies

Hello, I am using ActiveSky 5 with FS2004. The problem that I have is that the PC I use is not, and will not be, connected to the internet. I use my old PC for the internet and then use a LAN to transfer useful downloads to my gaming PC. Therefore I am unable to download Metar data directly using AS5.How can I download Metar data from my internet PC and install it into AS5 on my gaming PC ?Thanks

Hi,You can do this by installing AS on both machines (the license permits the same registered user to have it installed this way as long is it is being used on only one machine at a time by the single registered user). Just download / save the wx files on the internet PC and transfer it to the other, then LOAD the wx files on the non-internet PC.Also, if you own ASV you are entitled to a free upgrade to ASv6 from our website (downloads section at http://www.hifisim.com). After you upgrade to ASv6 you can get our latest ASv6.5 release update installed as well.Best,

Well I don't have FS9 installed on my internet PC and there's no room for it on the hard drive anyway. So when I try to install AS5 on that PC it obviously fails to find FS9, FSUIPP etc. and so won't run? Thanks

Hi,It will still run to the point of being able to download the weather. After that point that is where FS and FSUIPC would be needed.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

O.K., Thanks for the help, I've got it sorted now.
