Weather not loaded in ASV6.5 under FSX

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,I have a recurrent problem when trying to use ASV6.5 under FSX :1)I have installed ASV6.5 with its FSX patch upgrade, under "C:ActiveSky6 Install Package" folder.2)Within asv6.ini file, I have modified FS9Path line, in order to point toward FSX folder. Here are, just below, my first asv6.ini's lines ://ASv6.5 configuration file Build 533[General]WindowPosX = 2070WindowPosY = 3090DefaultWeatherFolder = C:ActiveSky 6 Install PackageModulesASv6SuppressionCeiling = 10000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XPersonalAppDataFolder = C:Documents and SettingsJean-ChristopheApplication DataCloudLayerLimit = 53) I run the asv6.5 first.4) I then ,run FSX, and asv6.5 status switch from "FS disconnected" to "FS connected"However asv6.5 is unable to find the real closest station report , and do not load any weather into FSX.Any idea about this problem ?Thank's Jc Michel

Hi,Sorry for the problem. Does AS recognize your curret location? In FSX is user defined weather automatically checked on? Please give us a specific location of where AS does not find the closest station report. The problem may be here. Thank's for your quick answer. In fact there are two problems ( a) and :( , see below).Let me give you a scenario :1) In ASV6 option's my Default startup location is LFRS, and onlines updates is well checked.2) When I run FSX, I load my aircraft onto CYQB airport.3) Then , what I see, is that ASV6 well turn to "FS Active", but : a) Closest station report remains on LFRS (instead of loading CYQB as it normaly should) :( ASV6 does not even load LFRS weather into FSX despite it is able to dispatch the good informations about LFRS's weather ,within the decoded frame (Wind, visibility, clouds, temp, pressure).I have tried different options within FSX weather (among whom clear weather) , but I don't really find the "user defined weather automatically " option. Could you be a little be more explicit please? Thank's againRegardsJc Michel

Hi,Any Start Paused options On?If you click on the Refresh button do things change? On the weather screen in FSX is User Defined checked On? If FSX recognizes AS then this option is automatically chnaged.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi Jim,So, I have tried both options Start Paused On and off, which makes no differences for my problem. Moreover :1) If I clik on refresh button(I had already tried that before), ASV seems to reload local weather, I mean : "Synthesizing local weather Data" "Generating intermediate weather Data" "Generating Active Radar and Export Data" and finaly, "online mode update complete" again.I stay on LFRS,and current data are ok (I live near LFRS, and by example, the real temperature is of +8

Hi,Do a reinstall of FSUIPC and see if that changes things. You are right, FSX should recognize that AS is controlling the weather.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi,I have reinstalled FSUIPC (4.05), but unfortunately no improvement.AS still see FSX active, but FSX does not recognize AS in the weather menu. Maybe it's a FSUIPC pb.Anyway, thank's for your help,RegardsJc Michel

Hi,Manually set weather to User Defined and see what happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Hi,In fact, I had already tried that (forcing manually User defined in the weather) and no improvement. But, I think that my problem comes from a bad installation of FSUIPC, because when I read the FSUIPC's manual, I believe to understand that an "addon" menu should appear in the FSX task options. And I have nothing in my FSX menu to access to FSUIPC (as it was the case in FS9).So I am going to try to understand the reason of that, which could explain the ASV problem as wellRegardsJc

Well,I have exactly the same problem at LPPT (Lisbon Airport).I am running:1) FSX Pro2) ASV6.5 build 5333) FSUIPC 4.05After I start ASV and weather for the default location is loaded and injected into FSX ("Online Weather Mode Completed..." and "Closest Station Report: LPPT/1nm" issued on the ASV window) I go to FSX and indeed no matter what it was set before the Weather Menu shows: "user-defined weather", butBUT! No proper wind or cloud are depicted in FSX. Allways CAVOK, & clear skies too.For instance the METAR just downloaded reads:LPPT 212200Z VRB01KT 9999 SCT020 16/14 Q1025 NOSIGbut not a single cloud appears in FSX!If I open the WX Config menu and set an "Heavy Thunderstorms" scenario and apply it to LPPT and then wait for the update to be sent to FSX (please note I have set NO suppress ceiling in the Options menu, and "Use update suppression" and "suppress all updates on ground" are NOT set!!!)when I return to FSX it is still clear skies!!!This problem does not apply to other airports such as PORTO (LPPR)where weather updates, either Online or via WX Config are allways correctly applied.Any ideas?

Hi,Sorry for the problem. Do you have an Add Ons menu in FSX and is FSUIPC an item?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Afirmative. Both are there. Please note that weather is properly loaded at other airfields. Only at LPPT (my default startup location) and a few airfields in it's vicinity do I have this problem.

Hi,I will return to this after work today.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Thank you!If you can, please start a flight at LPPT (Lisbon International Airport) and I believe you will be able to experience the problem...Something tells me it is a problem with the object associated to the weather station at LPPT... I am not yet current in SimConnect in order to check it myself... :-(

Hi J.C.,I went to LPPT and things were fine. All the data, including sky and visibility was right on. I flew around a bit in the area an things were still fine. It could have been a data problem? Have you added any scenery to this area?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
