Weather not loaded in ASV6.5 under FSX

Featured Replies

Nope, it's the default scenery. The only thing I have is LPPT as my default airport in AS. Today I'll try to set it to another airfield and see if it makes any difference. This is really weird because it works ok at other places...I will come back with further reports ASAP. Thx for your pattience!

Jim,this is really weird, and it's driving me "crazy". If it wasn't for the so many tweaking action I already took to make FSX run smoothly on my system I would consider a complete re-install of both poducts. The problem affects ONLY airfields in the vicinity of LPPT, and LPPT itself. The attached images show a situation where the AS6.5 screen properly reads the METAR and has suposedly injected the data to FSX, but in FSX the weather menu shows the everlasting situation with clear skies and southerly winds.Sometimes when I use the "Refresh" button in AS6.5 and move my view to the Tower, if it's a rainy, overcast day I can see rain and clouds for a few seconds, but soon after everything returns to CAVOK!!!!Well, Bill Gates was around here last Summer. Maybe he enjoyed so much the weather in Lisbon that he made the Aces team turn it into a persistent Summer day ....

Hi Jim,It's me again, just to tell the end of the storie.Remember that my problem was no addon menu for FSUIPC within FSX, which was the result of a simconnect failure. Therefore, I had no possibilitie to load the ASV6.5 weather into FSX.The culprit was the firewall of Mac Afee (and maybe the privacy Mac Afee service as well) , that I had to unsinstall in order to solve the problem. I have left the windows xp firewall running. Now, the weather is well loaded within FSX, and the closest station of course is well recognized. If it can help.Thank's again for your previous help.RegardsJc Michel

Windows XP fw here only... snif snifff.... Still no go for me at LPPT ...

Hi,Well, I just tried again and things are good, even on the weather screen in FSX. My next suggestion: In the FSUIPC.zip folder that you get from the FSUIPC site there is a utility called WeatherSet2. Run that while you are at LPPT and see if the proper weather shows up. Then we will go from there.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

Well,WeatherSet2 doesn't pack with fsuipc4, but I downloaded the fs9 version and it works :-)Now, I start WeatherSet2 and FSX at LPPT: the result is shown on the first picture, no cloud layers and no winds like in reality, even on WeatherSet2!!!The moment I change airport to say, LPPR, WeatherSet2 properly captures the correct METAR and FSX displays correctly as well, like in the last two pictures !!!!I'm crazy!!!!

Well, with your extraordinary help, and the suggestion of downloading and installing WeatherSet2, my brain finally came to cruise speed...If even WestherSet2 was clearing all weather at LPPT then it ought to be something related to the situation (my startup situation). While driving to the office I recalled that once I had set some option to save the weather with situation, something I no longer know where is stored.Well, I went to My DocumentsFlight Simulator X and erased all the files related with that sit, including the WX!That did it.What was happening was that somehow whenever FSX was started at LPPT (my default starup sit), the weather on the day I saved that sit (around last month) was fetched as associated to the situation, and written over whatever weather was downloaded, either through FSX RWW, AS or WS2.Thank you Jim for the precious support - back to nasty weather in Lisbon :-)

Hi jc,That is great news!To everyone else, I am going to lock this thread so that users will start a new thread if they need to.Thanks much,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
