December 19, 200619 yr HiThis has never occurred before!PMDG B1900D out of KSEA with on-line weather. 20 minutes into the flight FS9 drops out - no errors messages. The screen goes back to desktop. It happens every flight.Seems to ocur when AS gets a weather update.Perhaps it has something to do with the firewall?Any ideas. Thanks....IAIN
December 19, 200619 yr Hi Iain,How strange! Try with a default plane. Or try with Render to Texture the opposite it is now. It also could be scenery. I don't think it is the firewall.Off to sleep,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 19, 200619 yr I have this problem of FS9 just cutting out too. It happens at random with any aircraft. But I do know that it only happens when I'm using Active Radar. Please tell me there is a way to fix this.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg Ryan Gamurot
December 19, 200619 yr I deleted the type version of the PMDG aircraft I was flying. Seems OK for other aircraft. One possible reason is that the weather time (online updates) is different to the actual flight time of the flight I am doing.Perhaps if you are using online weather updates then the time of the flight should be similar also....IAIN
December 19, 200619 yr Hi Ryan,Could be a number of things:1. video drivers.2. plane used3. add on scenery or AFCADS.Any error messages from FS?Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 19, 200619 yr There aren't any error messages. It just skips back to the desktop without warning. It also doesn't happen anywhere in particular in the world. Just whenever I run Active Radar. Although lately I've been flying Trans-Atlantic flights and the CTDs would happen over the North Atlantic at random locations.Ryan GamurotLucky to live Hawai'ihttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpghttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg Ryan Gamurot
December 19, 200619 yr Hi,I would fucus on your video drivers.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 20, 200619 yr Maybe - but this problem has not occurred at anytime in the past 2 years so why now - unless some other install somwehere someplace altered something. Problem these days is everything is so complicated that troubleshooting can be very time consuming and often unproductive (not that I'm complaining). Iain
December 20, 200619 yr Hi Iain,I would try a re-install of that plane. The video driver suggestion was for the other user!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 20, 200619 yr I actually deleted the livery and the problem has as of yet to resurface - here's hoping!Jim - is there a problem running FS9 flights on a preset time with active sky online mode in real time? Also, active sky graphics as I understand it operates in conjuction with either active sky or the default weather engine of FS9 - correct? Thanks Jim....IAIN
December 20, 200619 yr Hi,1. No problems, though you should use TAF Processing and understand how TAFs work. AS will use the most current data, even if it is the TAF data.2. Right, because ASG loads textures into FS before FS is started. After that, FS does not "care" where the textures are from.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 20, 200619 yr OK Jim thanks. With regard to number 2 (graphics). If you load a active sky graphics theme, save and send to FS9, then close. Then exit FS9. Later on opening up FS9 again and using active sky, will the last graphics load from active grahics load the last theme - or - do you have to reload active grahics again??What I am trying to ask if whether theweather engine will default to the last known active graphics theme saved when opening active sky - or do you have to restart active graphics again, load, save and exitI hope that makes sense as I didn't really follow the manual with regard to this. Many thanks Jim....IAIN
December 21, 200619 yr Hi,FS will use the same textures until you install new ones! Remember, a texture theme contains no weather data.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
December 21, 200619 yr Hi JimSo the textures must always be loaded before the flight otherwise standard FS9 textures will be used?Sorry for confusion on my behalf...IAIN
December 21, 200619 yr Hi,No, not that! Once you submit any textures to FS, the default textures are overwritten. The next time you start FS the same textures that were used last will still be there and used. Remember, you asked if you need to submit new ASG textures each time and the answer is still no!It's OK, you keep asking until we get this straight!!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
