weather update causing stutters

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm using FS9 with ASv6, build 523 and it seems to me that since the tie-in with GEProII that I also have, on-line weather updates cause a great deal more stuttering than before. When I first got ASv6, my first ever AS version, I was impressed by how unobtrusive the updates were. But not now! I always disable my AV auto scan but I'm wondering what options are best set to minimise this. The stuttering can go on for 30 seconds or so, accompanied by a lot of HD activity.I defrag every 2 or 3 weeks but there is no discernible difference immediately after a defrag. This happens whether I involve GEPro or not.The FS9 on-line weather update is nowhere near as noticeable. In fact, in mid-flight I am hardly aware that it has happened. Not so with ASv6, it is hard to ignore and it is irritating.Could someone please tell me which options are best ticked or unticked to see if this helps?ThanksIain Smith

>Hi Iain,>>Sorry for the problem. Make sure the throttling options are>unchecked.>Please let us know.Hi Jim. Thanks for the response. Yes I've always had the throttling options unchecked. Is there a later build than 523 that I could try?A happy Christmas & New Year to you.Iain

Hi again Jim,Sorry for the length of time responding but the problem seems to be solved. I d/loaded and installed the latest update, build 533, but that alone did not make any difference. So, I uninstalled ASv6.5 and re-installed which does seem to have worked.I did recently uninstall and re-install FS9 for an unrelated issue and thought I'd be clever by copying the modules folder and then dropping it back in to the new install. Maybe AS did not like this? Thanks for the supportIain Smith

Hi,Good to know! Yes, a re-install will always be better for our program. Remember about those throttling options.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
