January 26, 200719 yr Hi there,I wasn't sure where to post this but thought you'd guys would probably be the best people to ask.My problem is i can't get rid of that hard horizon, the line that splits the ground and the sky. I've attached a screenshot below. I have seen many a screen shot where the ground and the horizon blend really nicely with one another but i can't seem to get that no matter what i try. I've tried reducing the visibility to 30 in AS but at 30000ft it looks like i'm flying through thick fog and its awful!I'm using FS9, AS6.5, and GEII. My visibilty settings in FS are Sight Distance 60m and cloud draw distance 60m. In AS visibilty is set at 59 as recommended in the sticky. My graphics card is an ATI 9800XT 256mb. I have also editted the fs9.cfg to the terrain values as recommended everywhere. In AS i have wx-infuenced clouds. If anyone could tell me how to eliminate this I'd buy them a pint :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/165858.jpg 🛫
January 26, 200719 yr Hi,Sorry for the problem,In ASG under Day Color Textures on the very last page you need to use the Seasonal Smooth Horizon textures. Do this after AS submits the Wx Influenced textures and befre starting FS04.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
January 26, 200719 yr Author Thanks Jim. i'll give it a go. I use the WX influenced theme, so can i make a custom theme exactly the same as the default wx-influenced theme but unticking the day textures so they aren't changed? I would do that instead of having to submit the smooth horizon textures everytime i start AS.Just one more question, when i set this up in ASG and uncheck the tickbox for the day textures so they are never changed from smooth horizons, when GEPro submits its textures for the ground and sky textures, will it alter the smooth horizon textures installed by ASG?I hope that makes sense if not i'll try to elaborate some more. 🛫
January 26, 200719 yr Author Thanks a lot for your help Jim. Changing to smooth horizons and with a few other tweaks to the FS9 visibilty the horizon has almost completely disappeared. Thought I'd post some screens to show the difference.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/165866.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/165867.jpgI owe you a pint by the way ;-) 🛫
January 26, 200719 yr Hi,Very nice! Send that pint to my house!!No, because the wx-influenced theme changes each time based on the weather conditions. You can make a custom theme, but it would not be a wx-influenced theme.Your best startup steps:Start AS and enter your plan.Set up AS and GEP in auto-submit mode. This will trigger GEP for textures. Do not have GEP start FS04.Run ASG and submit just the smooth horizon textures.Start FS04.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
