March 4, 200719 yr Hi guys,Suddenly I am having a problem with FS9 crashing as ActiveSky loads the weather. After the weather is downloaded from the server the hard drive gets really busy for about 30 seconds and then FS9 pops up with the Sorry Screen. I ran Filemon and found ASv6.exe:2744 is the file running over and over during the 30 seconds before FS9 goes away. If I don't use ActiveSky and use FS9 weather I don't have the problem. I am using the paid version of FSUIPC 3.70. I did have version 3.72 but I read it was causing some CTD's so I went back to 3.70. Render to Texture is checked if FS9. Did I cause a problem by changing versions of FSUIPC? Thanks,Bill "A good landing is one you can walk away from. An excellent landing is one you can taxi away from." March 4, 200719 yr Hi Bill,Sorry for the problem. Please try with Render to Texture checked Off. I don't believe that the FSUIPC version is the problem. If that Sorry screen pops up again, click on the Details link and see what file is in error. Please let us know, Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
March 4, 200719 yr Author Thank you! I will try it later today and post the results. "A good landing is one you can walk away from. An excellent landing is one you can taxi away from." Bill in Colorado: Retired Comm: ASEL/AMEL/Instrument CFI: ASEL/AMEL/Instrument
March 4, 200719 yr Author Well, I can't load FS9 without RenderToTexture checked. I tried and it died trying to load weather. I think it's because I have the alternate cloud textures. But, after that attempt, I re-checked RenderToTexture and loaded FS9 with Active Sky no problem. This morning I tried several times to run Active Sky and it always dumped FS9. Now it seems fine. Nothing has been changed that I know about.I will never understand computers or women. Both seem to dump FS9 occationally without any apparent reason. Thanks,Bill "A good landing is one you can walk away from. An excellent landing is one you can taxi away from." March 4, 200719 yr Author Correction: I misspelled "occasionally".And I should have typed "wives" instead of "women". I know there are many women who love this hobby. And maybe some wives, just not mine. "A good landing is one you can walk away from. An excellent landing is one you can taxi away from."
