Lightning?

Featured Replies

Is there anyway to acquire lightning for my T-storms? Seems to be the only thing missing or maybe I'm not using the correct cloud configuration?

Hi,Thanks for writing. That is all handled by the FS graphics engine. You may be missing some effects files. Is it that you never see lightning or is it that you don't like the way it looks? Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

I don't recall ever seeing it.I see snow, rain, etc. but I just don't recall ever seeing lightning.

Hi,In your FSEffects folder see if you have a number of fx_cloudlightning and fx_lightning files. If you do, then you are all set and you just need to find some heavy t-storms. Fly at night to really see them!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/

I checked and I do have all those files. Guess I just haven't been flying through heavy t-storms. This time of year been mostly snow and light rain. OK, thanks for the reply.

Speedbyrd I do think that is part of the problem. This time of year there are not as many t-storms in many places. But that is changing! It's now March. Just the other day we had a nasty one with hail and a little lightning. The same line of storms hit that school in Alabama.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2310 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-8 (1T), WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian case

Oh, I didn't have that checked! Have now done so.What about 'extend T-storm layers'? what does that do?Any other settings that you recommend? Thanks!

Hi,It takes the upper cloud layer and raises it for more realistic t-storm cloud layers!Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
