  1. I ran FS-II on the Apple //e and it's possible that SD12 was never released for the Apple (?) Anyway, by 1988 I was getting less interested in flight sim and more interested in girls, so it might have been released for the Apple and I just didn't know about it. I started with FS-II in 1985 at the age of 12 and I'd say I flew it...and WW1 flying ace subgame...pretty regularly from 1985-88. Then I picked up FS4 and ran it on my 386SX/20 back in circa 1991. Later I got a 486DX2/66 and ran FS5.0/5.0a/5.1 I never had FSW95. Went from FS4--->FS5---->FS98 and on to today. Yeah it was a neat scene then, AMD came out with their 386DX/40 which was considered strange in my circle at the time. A 40mhz clone of a 386, made by AMD.
  2. Is scenery disk 12 all of New York State? Or just part of it? I had scenery disks for basically Atlantic City, New Jersey all the way to Key West FL, but I don't recall a disk for New York. Beyond the New York, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Mass. that came with my SubLogic FS-II copy.
  3. Do you think flight sim people object to more detail? No. Nothing "bothers" anyone about the insides of airports, if it can be done with 1) little to no perf penalty, and 2) the OUTSIDES of the airport are not neglected #1 seems to be increasingly a reality, happily so However, all too often, #2 suffers...busted pathings, bad taxi signs, and worse And yet, we have perfectly-modelled kommodes in an obscure back corner of Concourse B. I think that is the heart of what people don't like.
  4. THAT is perfectly ok with me, because it's something you can see from the flight deck. But I do think the rest of it, if modelled, is fine too, but not necessary as far as I'm concerned. I am just interested in what I can see from the flight deck which is what you described. I don't need every coffee-maker-machine modelled at some kiosk inside the terminal.
  5. Or Sam Spade and Dirty Harry teaming up along with Mike Hammer to net some bad guys. Mike Hammer was so mean, he punched a tiger in its face.
  6. How is the "front wheel steering friction with speed" going? Has it helped with certain setups/people experiencing dancing?
  7. Do you mean the synthetic vision HUD thingy? Does anything else have that? It's a curiosity for sure.
  8. The Canadian band Rush could REALLY (re)write a song called "Subdivisions" and include these wayward Waymo cars in it. In geometric order An insulated border In between the bright lights And the far unlit unknown could be: In geometric order malfunctioning autos driverless and wandering across the mass production zone
  9. That's it, "Take Control of Character". I couldn't quite remember if it was take control of aircraft or take control of character.
  10. Is a Sovereign+ single-pilot? Not that it really matters I guess. I fly A300-600's single pilot heh. But just curious as I don't know too much about Sovereign's. I know they have 3000 nm range class which is nice. That could probably do New York-London westbound or from Shannon-to-NY for sure. I hope we get tons of bizjets in 2026 and 2027...maybe we will since a lot of the airliners are covered/or will be covered soontm (747, 757/767, I'm thinking of you)
  11. Also you're looking for a complex piston single to train with, I am partial to the Flysimware Sierra C24R Of course, the A2A Comanche has even more...persistence...simulation of ownership etc.
  12. Yeah. I'm just thankful I bought my 96 GB ram before the prices skyrocketed And my 4090 I bought new for $1550 a couple of years ago -- man I'm treating that thing as well as possible, extra cooling on it and all of that, I am milking the years out of it If I had to do it over I would have bought the base edition. I had this wild idea that I was going to fly all of those planes, but, in reality I just don't have the time. And you're right, I just can't fly anything the right way unless I specialize in a few aircraft. Ray Proudfoot certainly has more discipline / focus than I do. I'd love to be good at one plane. I mean really good. But I'm not.
  13. I haven't had this problem in about 6-7 years. I think an older driver for my Saitek pedals would fail to wake up after sleep. That was in P3D days. So far knock on wood it's never happened with the modern driver.
  14. heh. It's like the Coneheads. I want to make sure I am understanding this type of rotor. So what you are saying above, is that MBB Bo105's rotor disk does NOT arc upwards in flight at all? In other words, while flying in real life it is fairly flat no matter the forces applied to it?
  15. No really? I've been on his Discord since it started. I just thought that there was some other reason why he doesn't post here.
  16. Yeah, I don't like Discord either. Why doesn't Raul post here? I do remember him on here, doesn't seem like it was that long ago?
  17. The default MSFS2024 keystroke for getting into the cockpit is (left) SHIFT + C. If you have changed the default keys then you'll need to get into the Controls menu and look for the command called "Take Control of Aircraft", and see what key is bound to that. If nothing is bound to it, bind it and you should be good.
  18. It could be a bug and not intentional. I suspect it is not intentional. The way Raul is, it's either a bug or he could add a switch in the EFB to allow operation both ways. You could bring it up on Discord.
  19. Up until now, I thought most people used Lock mode (!)
  20. Did you uninstall and reinstall the plane? That is what I would do first. Is your Navigraph stuff working in other aircraft?
  21. Remember that some people commenting in YT can have an agenda...if you say something is better than the Hotstart Challenger that is a red flag to a bull, to pardon the Spanish reference. The ol' rojo bandera. I don't think graphics take precedence over flight models and systems, and anyone saying that simply doesn't know FSReborn. This is Raul as Christopher pointed out. He would model everything that could be modelled. He is a perfectionist, too. You are right to value other real-world user's opinions. Just be wary that as you said, YouTube content creators can have an agenda or not be well-informed about an add-on or developer, BUT so too can the commenters in there have the same agendas and lack of information. I value an opinion like yours (here at AVSIM) way more than something I'd find on Reddit or YouTube. I know most of you guys are straight shooters. If it sucks, you'll let me know ha ha.
  22. I always find visual approaches into "aircraft carrier" type airports a challenge. By "aircraft carrier" airports I mean airports on a hill/mountain/mesa or on a canyon-side or hillside. Places like Sedona (Arizona, USA), Mountain Air (North Carolina, USA), Pasto (Colombia), Madeira (LPMA I believe).
  23. be cool or be cast out
  24. Check out the dirt and dust buildup / wash info on the last couple of pages of the manual. They are really going for the real thing here.
