Do you keep your component boxes?
I have a 30 year old 14.4 modem box laying around here. I need to go thru it all and throw most of it away.

Taog AS365 N2 Dauphin / HH-65 Dolphin
Oh wow. So to you "Our friend needs to go away" could mean something else!! ha ha That's neat, (and a surprise to me), I will have to look into this.

More heat and humidity on the way
Do people have those swamp coolers in New Mexico? I've seen them in Denver. They're a sort of evaporative cooler. They work well in the dry climates.

Mscenery has been removed from MSFS Marketplace
Maybe this event will push MS/Asobo to do precisely that (enforce rules on screenshots& descriptions that accurately depict the product, etc.)

Mscenery has been removed from MSFS Marketplace
ha ha! You're bad heh. But really, what is to stop them from appearing with a new name?

More heat and humidity on the way
That's about 92F with 52% humidity -- that is right up there with what we usually get daily June/July/August. I feel for you fellows in the UK...and France and elsewhere who don't have A/C with those levels of heat & humidity. I'd move my sim rig to the cellar! My house has a brick facade all the way around. I am also blessed with two large oaks on the south side. At least I think the positives of those two oaks outweigh the negatives (acorns).

Nvidia DLSS 310.7 Released
Mace replied to xsever's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcI'm no expert on this, but you can either 1) download DLSS Swapper or 2) wait for nvidia to release a driver that updates DLSS to 310.7 (good luck waiting for that)

A study level helo…? You had me at “study”
Me too, if they had revealed this pricing from the start I would already have it. Possibly they hadn't determined that pricing until recently. I am not surprised at the final price. An Mi-2 while wildly popular in Eastern Europe, in the overall scheme of things is a more niche product than say a UH-1 or even MBB Bo-105.

More heat and humidity on the way
Today, it's only 19C (67F) and light rain here. That's downright cold for June 22. Our local TV station once said that there was a tornado at the intersection of two streets near my house. After I returned home later, there was no damage either at the intersection, nor at my house. As it turns out, it was a "radar-indicated threat". I suppose there could have been a funnel up in the clouds, but it did not touch down. The local stations are in a bad spot, as they're darned if they do, darned if they don't as you mention.

More heat and humidity on the way
It's actually been relatively cool here in the central/southern U.S. compared to what it could be this time of year.

More heat and humidity on the way
Millington humidity is an entirely different animal. Hatchie Bottom, all of that area is hot and humid easily 6 months of the year.

City Update 15: Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin
Dwight had an NDB right on the field -- can't remember the runway I had the Apple //e version, floppy disks I don't remember KIKK at all though. Maybe mine didn't have that airport, or I just didn't land there much. Had Bloomington-Normal, Champaign, Frasca Field, Dwight, Paxton, Morris Muni. I too have special place for those spots.

need some advice about upgrading
There's also a 9850X3D now...didn't know about that. Seems like a higher-binned 9800 possibly

Caesar: The Ides of March (June) have come! Soothsayer: Aye, Caesar, but not gone. Actually US Eastern Time -- where I think they're located -- will be on the 17th for about 10 more hours.

Paying attention to the World Cup?
Oh, I just thought even making it to group play was good. Well, anyway, I liked the middle-eastern music they played on our American TV every time they went to commercial. I will be rooting for Colombia...

Paying attention to the World Cup?
Seems like the host country always does pretty well. Didn't Qatar host last time, and do well? Anyway, I'm not familiar enough with who is good and who is not, to say how far a North American team might get. I noticed Scotland beat Haiti 1-0 the other day. Senegal vs. France, sounds fun. Senegal, for such a small country, has a strong football/soccer tradition, don't they?

MSFS | Expert Series 2: The Piper M600 by FSReborn
This same developer (FSReborn) created two sets of textures for the M500, so, it's possible he may do the same for the M600. With the M500 there is a low-res texture pack for those who need it, and a higher res "normal" pack for everyone else.

City Update 15: Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin
In the previous page of this thread I asked if the Bald Knob Cross was modelled, and no one has said yea or nay, so I may have to check for myself. Down-state gets little attention sometimes...you know how it is. And this is a City Update, maybe no POI's in a rural area (?) A fair rendition of Bald Knob Cross is included in a KCGI scenery at .to

Black Square - Commander 114
I wonder how that stormscope works in the sim? I mean, is there a way to detect lightning in the sim? Anyway, it's interesting, especially if it's halfway functional.

MSFS | Expert Series 2: The Piper M600 by FSReborn
I think if it has failures and wear n tear (does it?), for that price it's a steal, normally those features are reserved for premium-price-level airplanes aren't they? At least up until now. As the bar gets raised we only benefit. Yesterdays super-advanced features become baseline.

City Update 15: Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin
It does. Cairo is southern. And a good part of southern Illinois is like the Missouri Ozarks in some ways. I wonder if they modelled the Bald Knob Cross?

Would this be for SU6?

BATC Disconnects Just Too Much!
I've never even heard of BATC disconnecting until your thread here. I have flown with BATC quite a bit over the last year and never had it disconnect. Very strange...very very strange. I'd suggest going to the Discord as was said.

AMD is bringing back the 5800X3D
Whether you fly 2020 or 2024 matters here. 2020's architecture benefits from the extra cache more than 2024 -- 2024's architecture seems to still benefit from it, but not as much. As to what is "substantial", one man's substantial is another man's minor performance bump. There is info out there about MSFS2020 with 5800X3D offering what is in my opinion substantial improvement vs. non vcache cpu's of the same vintage. Here is the thread from release era, good info right at the top: https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/617599-ryzen-7-5800x3d-brilliant-msfs-performance/
