Why the universe might not allow advanced civilizations
Was only able to watch the first 6 minutes so far. I think we're vain to posit that physics presents a ceiling only (to quote the vid) "...a little bit higher than where we are now". I think we don't know what we don't know, as of now. Or to quote Donald Rumsfeld, there are known knowns and known unknowns. Or something like that. heh. Of course, then again, in another 10 years my 7800X3D might be ruling the planet.

Who needs an airliner, anyway…?
So how pending is the pending A2A Lancair Legacy? I know it was delayed but I couldn't remember if it's release window was, a) undefined, b) Q3 2026, c) Q4 2026.

PT6A Cheyenne III on short final!
The virtual checkride thing might be kind of neat. It's a cool idea.

Age verification?
I try to be as un-interesting as possible online / social media etc. That way, I figure they won't care about little ol' me.

Re Miami 767 overrun and post flight data dump.
Captain Steeve (ex-Navy and commercial pilot with a YT channel) counted Eleven (11) missed mandatory go-arounds on that approach.

FSR TL3000 amphibian
Wasn't the M600 handed off to Asobo, and they finished development? FSR did state that the "floater version" would be a free update. I get it, costs etc. etc. as work was done, but still...probably bad idea to say it's gonna be free and then not do that.

Re Miami 767 overrun and post flight data dump.
It will be interesting to hear the cockpit voice recording, as to whether a go-around was discussed, or if they mentioned a tailwind, etc.

Are we on the road to extinction?
I know you never watched "V" 40 years ago. But I did. Yum yum!

BckSq 114 Nose Wheel Shimmy too Aggressive?
In addition to that....I believe the manual says if you pull back on the yoke during rollout (to reduce loading on the front wheel) it can help mitigate the shimmy somewhat.

Xbox Live Down?
I am not going to go into the XPlane or P3D subforums and tell them that my electricity went out twice last year.

Got Friends Taylorcraft - any takers?
I see some red in there! It looks really good with the wood prop.

Rotorland = Humble Pie
I just installed and started messing with the Mi-2 around Rotorland...and...WOW to the capital letters. Just scratching the surface on it. I can't think in Russian like Clint Eastwood though.

Rotorland = Humble Pie
In your view, which add-ons would that be? I have these: Taog Alouette III inibuilds Scout/Wasp default Robinson R66 default Cabri Digital Aeronautics Mi-2 Hoplite Is there an add-on that I don't have, that I should have? Like OH-6? I find the Scout/Wasp to be really twitchy and sensitive. The R66 is a little better.

Rotorland = Humble Pie
Two that I want to fly but haven't are the Mi-2 and the OH-6. I'm just afraid that I will not be decent at any one of them, if I try to tackle too many different helos as was said. I also get "set-down-itis" where I am about 10 feet off the ground right over my landing zone and I'm thinking "Ok just set her down" and I dump collective and "thump" to the ground. I have to be more patient.
-
Rotorland = Humble Pie
I use this. It does humble me, I am not good at helos My Virpil stick is so sensitive. Lately I've been using "assisted sensitivity reduction" or whatever it is within MSFS -> controls -> assistances, which seems to help.

Four planes ago...
You can now do this with the Black Square Rockwell Commander 114. Not quite the same with GA as it is with airstairs/airliner but you can walk up to the plane, move onto the griptape, and click on the seat area (assuming you opened the doors, which can also be done from the outside).

Four planes ago...
Heh. LOL. This thread. What's your plane of choiiiice? Well what have you got?

Black Square - Commander 114
Yes, I know that. I read your post. My post was about /Microsoft/'s naming conventions for things like the Users folder. Your post was about long file names in the Commander's structure. Two different things.

Black Square - Commander 114
Microsoft really should change that. It seems like they could have better organization than C:\Users\Craig\10millionsubfolders\10millionmoresubfolders\yetmoresubfolders\yetagainmoresubfoldersasssasd1!11111one

Low and Slow Better For Potato PCs?
I ran an 8700K a few years back. Now it's in my work computer, still going strong. I had a watercooled 1080ti with it. I ran P3D and MSFS2020 with it pretty well.

Low and Slow Better For Potato PCs?
The 114 is great! But in the 114 you ain't gonna do 200 knots at 2500 ft without a serious tailwind 😄

Flying the MSFS 707 entirely on my own is fun
Yes. That's right. DC-8 would transfer fuel on longer flights. I'm not familiar enough with the 707 to know if in the real world they only ever had crossfeeding, and not tank to tank xfer. I'm assuming they only had crossfeeding real world and that this one is reasonably faithfully modelled?
