Currency will help. Agree with Bob on going AM5 and 32GB DDR5 is your min (EXPO 6000) and AMD 9800X3D is a great CPU for the price. Used nVidia 5070 (if you plan to use DLSS) or used AMD 9070XT (undervolt the 9070XT to get nVidia 5080 performance at half the price). The next two new generations of AMD CPUs will both be AM5, so highly recommend you go with AM5 platform.

Budget? Unfortunately your PC build timing is bad, everything has increased by 200-300% or more thanks to AI being over hyped and under delivered. The good news (maybe) is that all the large companies like (Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.) have huge volumes of hardware (RAM, GPU, etc.) sitting idle because they don't have the power to run them (and never will get the power they want to run them ... oddly we humans value power for lights, refrigerators, ovens, basic amenities to our comfortable survival more than powering AI). My advice, if you can wait, wait a year. AMD have a new CPU and GPU coming out in 2027 and promising support for "standard" consumers (we shall see). I would write-off nVidia hardware completely as they are full in on the AI route and don't appear to show any diversity in their business process. As to your plan, sure it'll work, but without knowing you graphic settings desired (visual quality) and FPS desired and budget ... I would still recommend better hardware choices across the board from what you listed.

The CPU used can determine whether to use HT/SMT (not a one size fits all situation) ... but for Vulkan based games/sim (like XP12), HT/SMT tends to work better. In most cases when running higher resolutions (4K), the GPU is going to be the bottleneck and use of HT/SMT or not will not have much significance.

Yeah, it's the world gone mad. I could easily sell three of my 5090s for $12,000 US (two of them are water cooled so maybe even more) ... I'd love to know who is actually buying these 5090s at this price? But I'm retired now, so I've had to adjust to having a budget and be more selective with my toys hence my questions about VF Yoke ... and appreciate your feedback and taking the time.

If Virtual Fly is present (or anyone representing VF) and anyone has a chance to checkout the VF Yoke Neo FFB please share your thoughts. I've pre-paid, but delivery is "estimated" for December, #85 in line. I'm interested in three key areas: What does the FFB do when I don't have any hands on the yoke or during AP operations? How much noise does it produce during normal flight inputs? How does the FFB level vary by aircraft type? I still have a refund window if they don't deliver by December so any and all information on VF Yoko Force Neo is much appreciated.

Completely understand. I probably wouldn't have spent some time in V6 either, but retired now so I have time ... I do like how V6 is very "tunable" ... I might start linking V5 scenery into V6 ... the Orbx V6 installs are very very few native. Trying to figure out how to get back the X trees globally (sure they didn't look as good but they had almost zero performance hit). Sticking with all PBR based (aka P3D V4.4+ onwards) aircraft/scenery will work well in V6. Not sure why ORBX central only allows for GB south native install? Did they actually change content for V6 only (have a hard time believing they would do that)? EDIT: Besides, V6 and XP12 gives me something to do while I wait for Asobo to fix (if they fix) their culling issues in MSFS. We all have our blind eye thresholds.
