May 30, 200719 yr Hi, I was just wondering if it is necessary to shut FSX completely down in order to install textures from X graphics, or is it sufficient just to exit to the setup screen?
May 30, 200719 yr Hi,Thanks for the question.Yes it is. FSX acts the same way as FS04 does.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
May 30, 200719 yr You can submit while FSX is running, and for a while you'll see a checkboard of old and new textures over water. Are there any real disadvantages or dangers to submitting while the sim is running? ==Marten:Weber==P-D920 oc3.64MHz 2GB RAM WinXP ATI X1900+1024MB 2xSATA250 2xVIEWSONIC 19"Best AI available today: www.world-of-ai.com
May 30, 200719 yr Commercial Member Hi,This is not a thread-safe operation and if FSX is loading a texture file while X Graphics is writing/rewriting it, it can cause an FSX crash. The chance of that happening would be slim but is a possibility.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
