July 6, 200718 yr Assuming I am only considering real-time weather, what would I see that is different between AS6.5 and XG vs. ASX and XG?In other words, what enhancement to every day real-time weather would I get by switching from AS6.5 to ASX?
July 6, 200718 yr Hi,Thanks for writing!ASX takes full advantage of the FSX weather engine.More weather stations.Wx influenced textures through XG.Weather mapX GaugeHurricanes if/when they happenWind ShearThanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 7, 200718 yr Well, I bit the bullet and got it. I must say that the combination of ASX and XG produces some stunning skies from real world weather. The one thing it does a little too well is produce low level haze. It probably is a very accurate depiction, but as it is, I may never see Los Angeles or Phoenix again.:-roll Any suggestions on how best to lighten up on the haze without screwing something else up?
July 7, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi,For haze, try cirrus overcast 4 or 5, and for those using WX influenced and want always these cirrus overcast 4 or 5 to appears in FSX, you must edit the wx influenced in XG, and set all value to 0 for cirrus overcast x default graphics, cirrus overcast 1,cirrus overcast 2,cirrus overcast 3,cirrus overcast 6 and keep cirrus overcast 4 or 5 as they areThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
July 7, 200718 yr I thought I replied to this last night, but apparently not. I am using cirrus overcast 5, but what I am talking about is the soup, typically below 3,000 ft. It is realistic, but makes screenshots a waste of time.Perhaps, I am missing something obvious.
