August 28, 200718 yr Moderator I've just finished my new system and am installing software. I have FSX on it's own RAID 0 array. I dual boot into XP Pro and Vista Home Premium. I installed FSX twice, once for each OS, overlaying the old files so that the registry entries would be ok.Plan on installing my ASX/Graphics also. Will I need to do the same thing with ASX - installing it to the same location twice - to keep registry entries squared away? And, will any INI files be necessary as the OS are on different drives (FSX is on the same drive to both OS)Did that question make sense? :)Thanx - can't wait to see ASX/XG on the new rig!!!VicQ6600 G0 CPU 2.4 o/c 3.6Evga 680i A1 with P30 BIOS 2G XP2-8500 DDR2 1066FSB Mushkin 996535 RAM 5-5-4-12-2T320G 7200 HD partitioined for XP/Vista/Programs 2 - 74G Raptors in RAID0 for FSX500G 7200 HD for backup SATA DVD burner Evga 8800GTS 640 PCIx Kandalf LCS case w/ built in liquid cooling 850W Thermaltake power supplyVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

FSX is in the same location for both XP and Vista.Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
September 1, 200718 yr Hi Vic,Yes, it will, but the backup will be in a different location.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 1, 200718 yr Author Moderator >Hi Vic,>>Yes, it will, but the backup will be in a different location.>>Thanks,>JimAH - it backs up in relative to the ASG install rather than the FSX install. Good thinking guys! Y'never know when some bozo is going to try a strange config! :)FWIW, the only issue I had with installing to the new XP was that ASX couldn't find Simconnect. I had to uninstall/reinstall SP1 and all was well.Thanx!VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/ RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
