August 29, 200718 yr X Graphics works fine with the default theme but everytime I try to install a new theme the programme freezes and locks up.I have done several re-installs, e.g. install X Graphics, activate licence key, install SP-1, but still the problem persists. My operating system is Windows XP.Your suggestions most welcome!
August 29, 200718 yr Hi Frank,Sorry for the problem. I am really not sure here. Are there any error messages generated? There are some logs generated that may help us. Look in your X Graphics folder for XGraphics_log and InstallThemeLog and attach those here.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 29, 200718 yr Author Jim,No error messages are generated. The programme just freezes when I try to install a new theme.Have looked in Program Files/HiFi folder but can't find any trace of XGraphics_log or InstallThemeLog.Where are they supposed to reside? Thanks.
August 29, 200718 yr Hi,They are in:Documents and Settings/UserName/Application Data/HiFi/X GraphicsThanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 30, 200718 yr Author Hi Jim,I've attached the two files you requested.Hopefully they will give some clue to the problem.Thanks.
August 30, 200718 yr Hi,My fault, I want a set of those files after X Graphics freezes. These logs are normal!Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 30, 200718 yr Author Jim,I think I've solved the problem. The window which pops up after the graphics have been selected and says do you want to install the new theme now is hidden behind the main X Graphics display screen.I only discovered this when I clicked on a shortcut to my C drive on the desktop. The C drive popped up and there was the message saying do you want to install the new theme. The question now is how do I get this screen to appear on top of the main display screen where it should be?I hope this makes sense!
August 31, 200718 yr Hi,Is your X Graphics B297?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
August 31, 200718 yr Hi,How are you getting that "Do you wish...." screen to even pop up?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
September 1, 200718 yr Author Jim,This is what happens:1. I activate X Graphics.2. I select one of the themes, e.g. "Shadow"3. I press "install theme"4. The theme installs and then X Graphics locks up (I can't even minimise it to the taskbar)5. The message box saying "theme install complete" is hidden behind the X Graphics display screen.6. I can only access it by bringing something up from my desktop such as the shortcut to my C drive.7. I am then able to press OK in the message box and everything works fine.
September 1, 200718 yr Hi,OK, thanks for that. It all has to do with your window focus. We did have a few issues with this awhile back, but I thought SP1 for X Graphics fixed this. My next suggestion is to do a uninstall/reinstall cycle of XG.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
