March 10, 200818 yr I've done a few flights in the last week or so in the Eaglesoft SR22 where I've noticed that, especially when I'm on the ground, the atmospheric pressure is jumping significantly even while sitting still. The most recent jump was today at KBWG around 17:00 or so GMT and it was fluctuating between 29.93 (wrong!) and 30.33ish (correct!). Only other addon which is doing anything else with the weather is fsuipc where I have wind smoothing turned on. I tried enabling the "pressure smoothing" in fsuipc with mixed results. This is using SP3 Beta, although the problem was existent prior to installing the SP3 beta today. Any more info I can give, let me know!Thanks,-stefanEdit: Currently, 17:35 GMT on Mar 10, 2008, with the nearest airport KMMI at 17 miles, I'm getting constant fluctuations between 30.03 and 30.36 give or take. KMMI is reporting 30.34, so I'm not sure why it's randomly dropping to 30.03 or so.When this happens during takeoff it's really annoying because it really messes with the engine performance. Any thoughts?Edit: Should say this is FSX SP2, and ASX is running in vmware fusion on a macbook pro via SimConnect, and is using SP1a of the SDK.
March 10, 200818 yr Hi,Thanks for the report. If you are 17 miles from a station, that means that you are going to get a blending of data from a number of stations. It is going to be up to your pressure smoothing options, in FSUIPC, to help this situation out.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
March 10, 200818 yr Author The issue with that is it happens even if I am stationary. Also the ATIS for the airport is constantly changing. Regardless, a .30" drop in pressure is pretty significant for any small area.-stefan
March 11, 200818 yr I had this problem too on sunday at EDDS with SP2.Pressure was jumping between 1005 and 1013 QNH. Slowly because of FSUIPC. Regards, Christoph Reppel (FSX, Win7 64-bit, I7)
March 11, 200818 yr Hi,I tried to duplicate this but could not. I sat at KBWG for about 10 minutes and once ASX set the weather, the pressure stayed exactly where it should have. I took off and flew a bit, and the same thing, a rock solid pressure, 100% accurate. Now, I have the unregistered version of FSUIPC, default settings and weather settings Off. Not sure if this made a difference. We are all learning about the new FSUIPC smoothing options and I don't know if this is the reason or not. You might want to try with default settings and weather settingsOff in FSUIPC and see if this makes a difference.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
