March 18, 200818 yr Having got ASX nicely set up and working (thanks to Al Jordan) I now have problems with XGraphics. It installs fine on the client but cannot write to the Server. I made the texture files RW on the server but they seemed to go straight back to Read Only. Everything is done as Administrator. At the moment I have XGraphics set up on the server so that I can install the theme required but ASX cannot add weather enhanced textures from the Client. This may seem as clear as mud but that how my brain is after a few hours wrestling with this. All help, as always, much appreciated. March 18, 200818 yr Hi Bill,Does XG give you an error message when attempting to write textures?Did you share your FS location? (allow network users to change my files)Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
March 24, 200818 yr Author Hi JimSorry for delay (busy finishing HMT). It did give an error message but I uninstalled and reinstalled and it seems to be writing to the server - time alone will tell if it is now fine. William Hall
March 27, 200818 yr Author Hi JimSpoke too soon - error logs attached which are hopefully self-explanatory. William Hall
March 27, 200818 yr Hi Bill,Did you do all of these things:Important notes for networked users:If you are using X Graphics on another PC (not the FSX PC) you will need to setup network shares. The following locations must be shared on the FSX PC:C:Documents and Settings[username]Application DataMicrosoftFSX (if on XP) or C:Users[username]AppDataRoamingMicrosoftFSX (on Vista) C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator X (or your customized FSX installation directory) We recommend using the default share names which will be "FSX" for the Appdata folder and "Flight Simulator X" for the FSX installation folder. You MUST enable write access (allow network users to change my files) on these shares. If you have trouble seeing these locations, you may need to enable "Show hidden/system files" in your Windows Explorer/View options. For more information about sharing windows folders, please search the internet as many helpful resources can be found.Once shares are properly created, you can start X Graphics and you will be asked for these locations. Simply point to your share names i.e. MyFSXComputerFSX (for Appdata) and MyFSXComputerFlight Simulator X (for FSX Installation).Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
March 28, 200818 yr Author Hi JimEverything seems to be working again - I have been having problems with the USB LAN working intermittently and bought a new one today. I suspect that may have been the problem. William Hall
